Notes on accommodation
Exposed beams, stone - flagged floors, antique brass beds and antique furnishing from the 1870 - 1940 from the island of Poros and the island of Hydra, colourful hand made rugs, give a character of a refined country house. A large verandah, with a central tree and a built - in barbecue to the side, provides attractive sitting and dining areas with spectacular views across the surrounding countryside. The house is fully air conditioned providing year round comfort for its guests and is suitable for children.

Poros resort benefits from its own private pool unheated (size 10x6 meters) with hydro-massage facility enabling you to relax and enjoy your holidays in a wonderfully calming and carefree setting. Poros resort is equipped to the highest standards having open parking spaces for 2 cars and a water tank.
Coast/Beach
The distance to coast is 10 minutes by car and the distance to the nearest beach is 15 minutes by car. Poros has many beautiful beaches. Some of these are: Kanali, Askeli, Monastiri, Vagionia, Neorio, Love little Port, Perlia, Plaka, Alikes, Bourtzi. On almost all the beaches there are facilities for wind surfing and other water sports.
Travel
From Athens the distance to Poros, by car is 150 klm.
Through the national road Athens-Korinthos, we go left, after the isthmus of Korinthos, to Epidavros. In 10 min. we reach the place Kalloni. From there, in 15 min. we reach Galata, that is across Poros island. From Piraeus daily Ferry boats and flying dolphins sail to Poros. The trip lasts 2 hours 15' minutes for the ferry boats and 1 hour for flying dolphins.
Distances
Poros resort is only 4 kilometers from the village of Galatas (mainland Peloponnese, across Poros Island), meaning 8 minutes by car or 30 minutes walking. In the village of Galatas you can find everything you want: shops, tavernas, cafes, pubs, bars, banks with ATM, super-markets etc. Across Galatas is the island of Poros where you can find everything too. To reach Poros you take the boat taxi (24 hours working) paying only a ticket of 0,50 Euros.
Further details
There are many activities on Poros including: Water sports - skiing, canoeing, dinghy sailing, yacht chartering, paragliding, banana boat, jetski. The harbour is full of interesting shops and there is an abundance of small supermarkets, banks and bakeries selling freshly baked bread. A covered daily market selling meat fish and poultry is open till 1pm and there are many open stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables. The choice of restaurants is very good, all family owned and offering very friendly service. The local wine is organic and very well priced. Many cafes along the harbour have comfortable seating and a late night drink here can be enjoyed amongst the convivial atmosphere of the island.
There are many archaeological places of interest to visit.
The beaches are all sandy and have at least one taverna. Sunbeds and parasols are available for hire.

Payments taken in £s, Euros, debit/credit card/bank transfer. Included: linen, bathroom towels, final clean, welcome pack. Optional extras: beach towels - £5 per person. Extra cleaning- payable locally.
