Situated within a tranquil olive grove, these charming villas are an ideal holiday location. Fabulous sea and mountain views, a pool on-site and the beach nearby. This property is perfect for relaxation and a true Greek experience. Sharing the garden with 3 other villas, each has its own space and feeling of privacy. Less than 1km from the nearest village and 5 mins stroll to the beach. Apart from the spacious accommodation, there is the pool to enjoy and the olive grove and vineyard to explore. There are plenty of outside areas around the pool, on the private balconies and in the barbeque area for exclusive use by our guests. The villas at the Iconpainter's Garden are unique. There you can have fresh fruit and vegetables every day from our orchard and garden and enjoy our own olives and oil. What makes a holiday with us unique is that we can cater for your every need including breakfast or evening meals if you want them. We aim to give you the perfect Greek holiday.

Changeover day
There is no preferred changeover day. We are totally flexible with your travel arrangements. We can meet you at any pre-arranged destination nearby or pick you up from Kalamata bus or train station or at Kalamata airport. A small charge is made for this.

The feel is Greek with chic. The decor is new, fresh and classy. The villa sleeps 4 in comfort and has been designed with privacy in mind. The villa has a sitting room with a big comfy sofa bed. There is TV and wi-fi connection. There is an extensively equipped kitchen with hob, oven, fridge, kettle, cafetiere. It has a full set of crockery, pots and utensils. The bedroom has a double or twin bed and plenty of wardrobe space. The shower room has a big shower, WC and wash basin over which there is a huge mirror. Again there is storage space here. Outside, there is a spacious balcony on which guests can eat or relax. It has a dining table and chairs and also deckchairs. At the entrance, there is a porch in which guests can keep their beach or outdoor gear. There is a sense of the traditional but with all the mod cons necessary to make your holiday perfect. All bed linen and towels are provided and changed twice weekly. There is a BBQ area and laundry facilities. |

Notes on accommodation
The villas all have air conditioning in the sitting room and bedroom. They have solar heating and an additional separate water supply to ensure there is never a water shortage. There is a fabulous pool which is for exclusive use of the 4 villas around it. Each villa has satellite TV and wi-fi.
We aim to provide ‘something different’ for your holiday and to that end we can provide a Greek breakfast, packed lunches for days out and an evening meal. Just tell us your preferences and needs and we can cook and serve your evening meal to be served on your balcony. Guests can also buy fresh produce from us every day in the form of fruit and vegetables, oil and olives, wine, preserves and freshly baked bread.
Whilst we welcome children at the Iconpainter's Garden, the holiday is designed to be tranquil and relaxing. This is a ‘get away from it all’ destination and we would hope that parents would ensure that their children respect the privacy and peace of others.
Accessibility
We are not specifically designed or adapted for wheelchair access although the villas are accessible to wheelchairs. If potential guests wish further details then we are happy to discuss their requirements further by e-mail.
Outside
The villa sits in an olive grove shared with 3 other villas. There is lots of space and olive trees between the villas thus giving each a feeling of peace and privacy. All villas have uninterrupted sea and mountain views. There is a fantastic pool for exclusive use of the villas and around it are loungers and deckchairs to relax and sunbathe. The pool is 8m x12m and is designed for relaxed bathing. It is not suitable for diving. Separate from the pool area, is a place to BBQ. The Garden has olive trees, a vineyard and many different fruit trees and guests can walk and explore. At the entrance to The Iconpainter's Garden, there is a little Turkish well and seating nearby where guests can sit and relax.
Coast/Beach
There are countless beaches around the villas. The nearest being Peroulia. It is 5 minutes walk through an olive grove and is clean, sandy, quiet and flat. Just perfect in fact! In Koroni there is the famous Zaga Beach, home of the Loga Turtle. This is more than 2 km of impossibly beautiful sand. Further afield (about 4km from Koroni) are Tsapi and Marathi. Down a winding road to a taverna at the bottom and the most unspoilt of sandy beaches. Finikounda is renowned for windsurfing (5km away).
Golf
A golf centre is currently under construction at Pylos, 40 minutes drive from the villas.

Travel
Kalamata is the nearest airport at 30km away. It is about 35 minutes drive. Athens is about 4 hours drive through wonderful scenery. Flights currently come to Kalamata May to October and to Athens all year round. Ferries from Italy come in daily at Patras which is about 3 hours drive from us. For those not wishing to hire or bring a car, an excellent coach service connects Athens to Kalamata daily, an equally reliable train service links Patras to Kalamata. Car hire is not essential.
Distances
The village of Kombi is less than 1Km away and Harakopio is 2km away. Koroni is 4km away and there is a regular bus. Harakopio and Kombi have shops and small tavernas of good quality. Koroni has a bigger selection of shops and tavernas. Kalamata is the main town in the area (40km) by bus. It boasts some beautifully restored Venetian style buildings and many chic cafes and bars. There are many interesting places to see. Ancient Messini rivals Olympia in beauty, Mystras a Byzantine wonder.
Further details
From the villa, within a walk to Harakopio or Kombi, shops for all your needs are available. For a larger supermarket or a bank , you would have to go 4km into Koroni, described by ‘rough guide’ as ‘one of the most picturesque fishing villages in Greece’. There is a magnificent castle atop a promontory (once a Venetian Naval Fortress). Nestling beside the Castle is the unbelievably quaint ‘Timios Prodromos Convent" made up of a network of tiny intricate churches. The view from here over the sea leaves one speechless. For those who love sightseeing, a day trip can take you to the second Venetian Castle in Methoni and on to the picturesque port of Pylos. For those who like activity boat hire is available in Pylos and windsurfing lessons or equipment hire at Finikounda (8km away).
Further afield, for day trips away, Byzantine Mystras, a medieval town perched high on the mountains overlooking Sparta. Olympia and Ancient Messini are both wonderful examples of the ancient world. There is also the Temple of Epicurean Apollo standing within a fascinating landscape and said to have some of the most intact friezes surviving from ancient times. Nestor's Palace is a Mycenian Palace near Pylos and interesting for its' insight into ancient domestic life.
For those who love the outdoors, there is a walk in the Neda Valley where the river flows into the Ionian Sea. The valley has unusual rock formations and forms and extraordinary landscape. Within driving distance, are the Polylimnio falls, a secret paradise of small lakes and waterfalls hidden among olive groves and vineyards and finally, the Viros Gorge, a walk with stunning scenery, many churches and ruined ancient
villages along the way.
All of these places are either close by or within a normal day trip. For those not wanting too much in the way of activity, there are always the many beaches or even the comfort of the pool and your own balcony!

This is non-refundable and payable within 14 days of your booking request. Payment of the balance will be upon arrival in euros or by bank transfer no later than 28 days before your arrival.
