Set in its own spacious grounds with traditional stone walled terraces (one terrace overlooking shared pool and two more private terraces). All terraces cater for both shade lovers and sun seekers. There is also a large covered veranda (with table and chairs) leading from kitchen, creating a cool and shady place to relax and have dinner and gaze at the sea. The pool is ideally situated next to and below your own private terrace. The balconies all give views of Souda Bay where the ferry and fishing boats come and go. Table and chairs on balcony alsol. The bedrooms (one double and one with twin beds) are comfortable with fitted wardrobes in both (and a safe for valuables) both have access to balcony with sea views. The kitchen is fully fitted with oven, microwave and fridge freezer. Small dining table if you wished to eat indoors. An open plan living area with colour TV and DVD player (assorted DVDs included). All rooms have air conditioning (which can be heaters in colder months).

Changeover day
Changeover any day usually a Tuesday morning to leave by 10 am if possible please (cleaners in by 11 am preferably). Any problems at all there will Gowests telephone number in villa for you to contact (management company). Arrival after 4pm preferably.

Bedrooms: Master bedroom has a double bed and second
bedroom has twin beds. Both bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fan, chair, dressing table and stool.
Balcony from both bedrooms with table and chairs and wonderful sea views. 2 double sofa beds downstairs.
Bathrooms: Main bathroom is upstairs, with bath and shower attachment. Downstairs bathroom having a walk in shower.
Both have wc and sink and a cabinet (with lighting over).
White marble in both bathrooms.
Kitchen: Kitchen has cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, small table & chairs, washing machine is in bathroom upstairs, and an iron with board. Double patio doors opening out onto covered verandah with further large table and chairs.
Utility Room: Understairs area for broom, bucket and sponge etc.
Living Rooms: Open plan living area, with 2 double sofa beds, coffee table and cabinet housing colour TV, DVD player and DVDs. Patio doors opening out onto pool area and side entrance to car park. Front door with access to covered verandah and outdoor eating area.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bath towels and bed linen all included, changed once a week on Tuesday morning. Villa is cleaned Tuesday at 10 am (usually) If you do not want cleaners in (2 week stays only) please notify me -I will let the maintenance company know. Plus a Welcome Pack.

 

Notes on accommodation
Air conditioning also can be used for heating.
The pool is not suitable for children as there is no shallow end, the pool is 1.60m throughout.
The pool is cleaned twice a week by qualified staff and has sun most of day.
This villa has a large private terrace with sunbeds and umbrella situated next to pool.

Accessibility
Access road is not yet tarmaced, but is short and a little bumpy but our tiny hire car managed easily. Own marked space in large car park (park outside villa side entrance). Safe fenced gardens and pool for children. Terraced gardens with many steps mean that this villa is not suitable for wheelchairs, people with walking difficulties.

Outside
The pool is shared with only 2 other villas, they are mostly left empty. Numerous terraces giving you many places to have your BBQ - with umbrellas and sunchairs provided for your own private use. Large new metal BBQ. Various floats/toys for pool kept in cupboard in kitchen for guests to use. Solar light at entrance to villa (above steps). Also side light over car park area.
Covered veranda with table and chairs (situated outside kitchen patio doors) with superb views - ideal shady place during day and also to dine alfresco in the warm evenings and watch the boats come and go in Souda Bay.
Car parking for car next to villa on gravelled parking area.

Coast/Beach
Nearest beach is 20 minutes walk down to Almyrtha and it has sandy main beach with a second section ideal for snorkelling. Easy to walk along beach to Kalives village - another sandy beach and takes about 20 minutes. For a change of pace you can drive to Georgopoulos which is a good road and takes about 20 minutes, this beach is also sandy and there are many shops and tavernas.

Travel
Two airports are near to Plaka. Chania airport is 30 minutes drive away and taxis are cheap. Heraklion airport is 90 minutes away. Both have a good main road to connect them to Plaka via village of Kalives and Almyrtha. Port of Souda is half an hour's drive away and ferry comes to and from Athens daily.

Distances
Nearest village is a few minutes walk to Plaka with a mini market and tavernas. Chania is main town and is a 30 minute drive and this is where airport is. Plaka is 20 minutes walk to Almyrtha beach and shops and small tavernas. This is where Flisvos car hire shop can be found. Kalives (15 minutes drive) is next beach and busier, it is a small fishing village, with tavernas and many small shops - with butchers, chemist, bakers and internet shops. On noticeboard in entrance are information sheets.

Further details
Kalives is the best place to go for banks and bigger shops, such as chemists, bakers, butchers, laundry, internet cafes and large INKA supermarket at end of High Street. Car hire is in Almyrtha and there is a small bank there also. Internet shops are mainly in Kalives. This is easier to get to by car but it is walkable to, but if you are carrying shopping it is better to drive.

Booking notes
£100 per week deposit secures the booking-full payment must be made within 8 weeks of due arrival date. Confirmation of booking will be made as quickly as possible. Deposit is non-refundable if cancellation is made. Any breakages - taken out of the deposit. Cancellations - 4-8 weeks 50% refunded. 2-4 weeks 25% refunded. Less than 2 weeks no refund. Included is welcome pack on first day. Clean linen and towels each Tuesday and electricity. NB-call outs will be payable to Gowest by you on day.
