Villa Loukia is located in a stunning position, nestled into the quiet olive covered hillside above Kassiopi in the hamlet of Kelia. The views from the villa across the bay of Avalaki and to Albania beyond are truly stunning. The property was new for 2008, having been bought by an English family with many years experience of holidaying in Corfu. Attention has therefore been paid to equipping the villa with all the necessary equipment for a relaxing and happy holiday whilst making sure it remains comfortable and practical for both couples and families alike. The location is quiet and private - away from other properties - however unlike many villas in NE Corfu, the situation above Kassiopi means that it is possible to walk (10-15 mins) to shops/restaurants in the evening, leaving the car at home. The nearest supermarket is just 5 mins walk or 2 mins in the car. The famous village of Kalami and the lovely secluded coves of that area is just a 10-15 mins drive. Look at the website below.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday/Sunday especially in July/August. However we will endeavour to be flexible and meet your needs.

Kitchen: Fully fitted modern kitchen with cooker, hob, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher.

Living Rooms: Sitting/Dining Room with feature fire place. Furnished with wrought iron furniture manufactured by local artist. One sofa has been designed as an extra bed for a 7th guest. Two sets of French Windows to terrace. Dining area with table and benches.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bath towels and linen provided. The villa is cleaned weekly and sheets and towels changed weekly. Please bring your own beach towels/pool towels. Extra cleaning can be arranged but must be booked at time of booking.

 

Notes on accommodation
All rooms have air-conditioning units with remote controls and all windows have built in mosquito nets. LCD Flat Screen TV and DVD Player in Sitting Room with good selection of DVDs. Limited Sky Satellite has been installed and if you bring your own Sky card from home you will be able to get most of the channels you pay for (I think not sport...) 3rd bedroom on ground floor. Master bedroom has a hair dryer and valuables safe. Children welcome - cot/highchair available on request but note we do not have stair gates. Pool is gated from house but not from the drive. All rooms have been furnished with Corfiot wrought iron furniture. It is requested that guests do not smoke inside the villa. The Port of Kassiopi and its tavernas / bars / restaurants is in walking distance.

Accessibility
Three steps up to ground floor level. Downstairs bedroom. Not suitable for wheelchairs but fine for limited mobility.

Outside
Villa Loukia has an enviable variety of outdoor space - different areas for different times of day with sun or in shade. The pool is stunning -10x5m, decorated with hand painted Sicilian tiles around waters edge with a large surrounding terrace, gated from the house. There are 8 sunbeds, parasols with some shade from the olive trees. From the living area and downstairs bedroom is a large shaded terrace that runs along the front of the villa with attractive 'bow' front. A round glazed stone table and chairs is conveniently situated next to the kitchen for dining, family games or just to take in the views. The terrace leads to spacious pool area nestled into the olive grove.

Upstairs the large terrace with 'bow' front leads from both bedrooms with plenty of room for sunbathing or relaxing whilst taking in the breathtaking views of Albania. The master bedroom has its own private terrace with seating and coffee table - the ideal place to read in solitude!

Coast/Beach
Port of Kassiopi is 10-15 min walk. All the unspoilt beaches of the NE coast are within a 10-20 minute drive. Even in August it is possible to find secluded beaches where you can be on your own! Highly recommended - the Eucalyptus lined cove of Chouchoulio, Gialiskari and Agni (best Tavernas on Corfu).

Golf
A 45 minute drive will take you to Corfu's golf course.

Special interest holidays
Corfu is very popular with walkers in spring, early summer and autumn. Comfortable climate and lovely scenery, so reminiscent of Gerald Durrell's 'My family and other Animals', attracts walkers at this time of year. Walking in Corfu is both relaxing and a lovely way to unwind by taking in the beautiful surroundings of the countryside with its lush green scenery and numerous wild flowers before the heat of summer. The flora and fauna explosion of spring have to be seen to be fully appreciated and as a backdrop to a relaxed walk nothing could be better to unwind and enjoy this time of year on the island.

Travel
From January 2008, Easyjet has started flying to Corfu from 1st April to end October direct from Gatwick. Other airlines are Monarch, Flybe, Thomas Cook, Olympic and Agean. The airport at Corfu Town is a 1 hour drive away. Car hire is advised but not essential. Car hire pick up and drop off available from the airport.

Distances
The delightful Venetian Capital, Corfu Town, is situated a 1 hour drive away (approx 40km). It can also be reached by boat and bus. Highly recommended.
Kassiopi 1.5km.

Further details
Kelia is a small, tranquil hamlet of houses, spread out through the olive groves approximately 1km from the main road.
Kassiopi is a charming little fishing village, with a traditional port. Tourism has had its influence, but down at the harbour you can still find local fishermen supplying the local restaurants with fresh daily fish. Tavernas, shops, beaches and bars offer something for everyone. Teenagers will appreciate the evening life - with several music bars and 'low key' clubs. It is a safe environment for them to meet other friends.
Water skiing, wake boarding, scuba diving, wind sailing, boat hire all available close by.
Water parks - Aqua Land is the biggest, just west of Corfu Town or the Hyropolis near Acharavi.
Scooter/bike/buggy/rental available in Kassiopi. Numerous boat trips/fishing trips and excursions available locally. Horse riding available on the Avlaki Peninsula.
