To Petrino is built entirely out of local stone in the traditional manner and sits in a secluded olive grove above the small yachting town of Nidri. The property enjoys spectacular views out over the Ionian Sea and the Island of Scorpios to the Greek mainland in the distance. The wooded and terraced grounds provide a haven of peace and quiet whilst the property enjoys easy access to Nidri with its many tavernas bars and shops and a thriving port for yachts and ferry services to the other Ionian Islands. The property enjoys extensive patios and terraces providing both sun and shade at all times of the day. A principal feature is the 60sq meter infinity pool looking out over the olive groves to the sea. This area is fully terraced and equipped with a shaded area, large sunshades, pool loungers and teak furniture. The villa is luxuriously and fully furnished with imported Indonesian furniture and all bedrooms have recently been fitted with reverse cycle air-conditioning.

Notes on prices
Prices should be regarded as a guide only for the full rental of the Villa for one week or two weeks. The peak season is at a fixed price however many people rent the Villa, but in the lower seasons the price is dependent on occupancy. Please contact the owner for more detailed pricing. Winter rates are by negotiation.

Bedrooms: All five bedrooms are equipped with Indonesian hardwood beds and high quality pocket sprung mattresses. One has a four poster bed. One has 2 X 4'6" beds so could be a children's room three have zip linked beds so can be single or doubles (super king size)
Bathrooms: All five bedrooms enjoy en suite bath/shower rooms with heated towel rails.
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with Whirlpool appliances, including electric oven and hob, microwave, extractor fan, dishwasher, and fridge/freezer with automatic ice maker, drinks fridge, magimix, blender, coffee machine, Toaster, Sandwich toaster.
Utility Room: Full washing facilities, washing machine with hanging dryer rack, dryer. Clothes line.
Living Rooms: Large living/dining room with table and chairs, sofa and easy chairs, tables, sideboards and furnishings. Hi-fi with ipod lead. Wifi internet. Family room Satalite TV/DVD DVD library.
Other: Covered veranda for outdoor eating with ceiling fans. Outside rattan sofas and chairs with low tables, for pre dinner drinks.

linen/maid service:
All linen and towels included and changed twice a week. Maid service four mornings per week, a total of 20 hours per week. Pool and beach towels are also provided.

Notes on accommodation
The villa enjoys full air-conditioning in all bedrooms and central heating thoughout, together with a traditional fireplace for the colder months. All bedrooms and the kitchen area are also equipped with top of the range reverse cycle Hunter ceiling fans. The swimming pool is fenced off at the top terrace but there are high walls which could be a hazard to young children.

Accessibility
As the property is on a hill, it would not be suitable for wheelchair use as there are steps to gain entrance.

Outside
A feature of the property is the 60 sq Meter private pool with infinity edge overlooking the wonderful view over Scorpios and other neighbouring islands towards the Greek mainland in the distance. The Villa is very private with extensive private grounds and patios with BBQ and outdoor teak furniture.

Coast/Beach
There are many beaches on the Island of Lefkas some of which are world renowned and spectacular. The closest beaches are no more than 10 mins drive away. Windmill beach in Lefkas town is a center for kite surfing, and Vasiliki is a world famous beach for wind surfing. Hiring a boat is the best way to see the quiet private little coves scattered down the coast.

Special interest holidays
We have had groups for painting at the villa but these have been not been run by us. There is a wealth of wonderful boats, views and houses to paint.

Travel
Preveza (Actio) is the nearest airport and is approx 40 mins drive from the villa. Flights from Gatwick/Manchester operate between May and October on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Distances
The town of Nidri is 1.5kms distant and Lefkas town is 15kms.

Nidri is a busy and thriving small town and a great center for boating and sailing.

Owner profile


About the owner
Villa To Petrino was orginally built by two couples. They started building the villa in 2000 and it was finished in 2004. It was an exciting project for them all and involved many trips to the island and a trip to Indonesia to fit the house out with teak furniture and artifacts. The result is a beautifully built stone house and infinity pool, with a breathtaking views of the mainland and islands, situated on a hill in a tranquil olive grove. It is now owned by one of the original couples who use the house with friends, and with their three children and now grandchildren during the months of June and September. Every trip to the villa is looked forward to with the same enthusiasm as the first. We seem to enjoy it more every time.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We choose Lefkas as the place to build a villa, for the beauty of the island and its diversity. We had never found anywhere as unspoilt as these islands. The west and east coasts are so different and so beautiful in their own way. When we first saw the land we knew we had found what we dreamed of; the spectacular views from the foothills just outside a very Greek little village were exactly what we wanted. The villa look down on busy Nidri which is fun to shop in and the young can enjoy the nightlife with only a short journey home through the olive groves. The very attractive Lefkas Town is not far away with more extensive shops where we always enjoy a drink in the square surrounded by Greek families.

Unique benefits of the property
We set out to create a villa that would blend in to the surroundings and in a Greek style but with all the comforts of modern living. We have used comfortable pocket sprung mattresses and white pure cotton linen and towels and air conditioned bedrooms, to ensure a good nights sleep. Every bedroom has an ensuite shower or bathroom. We have comfortable teak pool loungers with large shades and plenty of other benches and chairs so that everyone can find their own quiet space. The kitchen is well equipped with modern electrical appliances and all you need if you wish to stay in and cook. There are lovely walks in the mountains above the villa, a short drive away and some wonderful mountain Tavernas if you find Nidri too busy.
