Built in 2004, ‘Ionian View’ is a detached, single storey villa with its own private pool. Outside the property there is a spacious terrace and barbecue area. Based on the outskirts of the village of Vlahata giving privacy and peace yet close to the local amenities. The nearby beaches of Trapezaki and Lourdas (which has an EU blue flag) are only 5 mins drive. The views that the villa commands are without a doubt amongst the best on the island, in front, stretching out across the Ionian Sea to the Island of Zante and to the rear the mountain of Enos. Situated approximately 20 mins from both Argostoli to the west and Scala to the east, Ionian view makes the perfect base for exploring all that Kefalonia has to offer.

For bookings of 2 weeks, there will be a 10% discount on the second week.
Changeover day
Sunday is changeover day for 2009. This will be changing to Tuesday from May 2010. The villa is available from 4pm on day of arrival. We ask guests to vacate by 11am on day of departure. Winter Holidays available with no fixed changeover day.

Accessibility
The villa is not considered suitable for wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties.
Outside
Outside the villa there is a pergola giving a undercover eating area with tables and chairs for 6 people. Sun loungers and umbrellas around the pool.
The pool is for private use to villa guests and measures 8m x 4.5m.
Coast/Beach
Lourdas beach is 1.5km from the villa or a 5 minute drive.
It consists of 3 bays ajoining to make up 3km of white sand and shingle.
There a few small family run restaurants/bars and a mini market along the beach. There is a public toilet and lifeguard at on duty at high season. Sun beds and umbrellas are also available at local prices. It is a beautiful beach and never seems to be overcrowded, with good access by road, there are also lovely walks around this area.
Special interest holidays
We are currently working with a local English couple living in Vlahata village to offer Autumn and Spring walking and exploration holidays. These will cater for the casual rambler right through to the hardened walkers among you at times of the year when it is still very pleasent and very beautiful but not too hot to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Island. Walks would be on a guided basis (payable locally) or a drop off and collect basis giving total flexability for your holiday, using Ionian View as a comfortable base to relax between adventures! Flights are via Athens to kefalonia and we are proposing a 9 day trip, giving 7 days holiday and allowing 2 days for travel. Departure days are flexible also as flights are daily. These holidays will be available from the end October 2008. Please call for more information or just a chat. Prices from £500 and is on a self-catering basis.
Travel
Argostoli airport is 12km or 20 minutes by car and is an easy drive.
Car hire is essential and can be arranged direct from the airport although local taxis will cost around 20 euros to the villa.
There are good local car hire offices in the village approx 10 minutes walk from the villa.
Distances
The local mini market is 5 minutes walk.
Lourdas beach is 5 minutes drive.
Argastoli the capital is 20 minutes drive.
There many attractions on the Island, most within 45 minutes drive of Vlahata and the beautiful Myrtos beach and Venetian fort of Assos within 1 hour.
You can be at the picturesque harbour of Fiskardo in 1 hour 20 minutes but it is well worth a look and the coast raod provides stunning views along the way.
Further details
The main banking facilities and cash points are in the capital Argostoli. Ther is a wide selection of good, reasonably prices local restaurants, within 5-10 minutes drive from the villa.
Being on the edge of a village we do have a couple of near neighbours but none of which hinder privicy in any way.

Bookings can be made by phone or e-mail and a non-refundable deposit of £50 per person is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before the day of departure.
