Beautifully furnished traditional farmhouse, offering ideal rural holidays for families, romantic away-from-it-all breaks or for lovers of nature. The air conditioned, open plan sitting room/kitchen makes up fully half the house (100 sq.m. in total) with 2 double bedrooms and bathroom (complete with bath and shower). The kitchen is equipped with electric fan oven, dishwasher and washing machine. A wide veranda runs the entire length of the house, giving plenty of sun as well as shade. The garden completely surrounds the house, and is fully maintained for you. Set in a working olive farm of 400 trees, with neighbouring olive-groves stretching for kilometres in either direction. We are approx 1km from the village of Kato Samiko, 3km from the beach, and mountain walks start at the front door, with 100s of km of forest tracks to find.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, our property is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Note for elderly/infirm: the house is all on 1 level and presents no problems to those with mobility issues. However, please be advised that the land surrounding the house consists of terraced olive groves, on the side of a steep hill. If you have difficulty with steep slopes or steps, please ask for more information.
Outside
The veranda runs the full length of the house, and is where you will spend most of your time. Plenty of shade from both the roof and an enormous, 200 year old olive tree, as well as sunny spots for the sun-worshipers. Outdoor chairs and table are provided, and a traditional outdoor oven can be used for barbecues. The extensive garden completely surrounds the house, and is maintained for you.
Coast/Beach
Decidedly untouristy, the area around Kato Samiko is one of the best-kept secrets of the Peloponnese. The beach is vast, stretching for over 100km in an unbroken curve of golden sand, backed by sand dunes and pine forest, without any major developments or resorts-you can normally find your own private stretch of beach without difficulty. We are 3km from the closest point, but feel free to explore to find the part that best suits you, either with beach, bars and crowds, or completely empty.
Travel
You will need a car to get the most of our area.
Kalamata and Araxos airports both offer charter flights, and are approximately 90km away. Hire cars can be collected at the airport.
Athens airport is also an option, approximately 3 and a half hours by car.
By ferry, Patras is the closest port (150km), which connects with the Italian mainland at various points, most notably Ancona and Venice.
Distances
We are 1000 metres from the village of Kato Samiko, which boasts a number of restaurants, a mini-market and, soon to be opened, a petrol station.
Local markets are held weekly at Zacharo (12km) and Krestena (8km), and the city of Pyrgos (30km) offers all the comforts of a modern metropolis.
Ancient Olympia is approximately 25km inland.
Further details
Ancient sites include Olympia (25km), The Temple at Vassai(30km), the hot springs and spa at Kaiafas (3km), as well as a wealth of smaller archaeological sites including our own Acropolis, just 2km away. Mountain walks and superb cycling and mountain-biking routes abound, and island-hopping day trips to Zakinthos or Kefalonia from Kylini (50km) for those who wish to see more than just the Peloponnese. Virtually all the main archaeological sites of Greece are reachable by car, with the new bridge across the Gulf of Korith making even Delphi accessible.
