Roz Villa is nestled amongst holly oaks and olive trees on a mountain side, the villa enjoys panoramic vistas across the valley and over the roof tops of Agia Efimia with a sea view of the Ionian Sea to Ithaca. Within a 500m walk of Roz Villa is the enchanting seaside village of Agia Efimia and its beaches, harbour and all its amenities, including numerous tavernas, bars, shops, yacht cruises and scuba diving. An attractive and well maintained terraced garden with several pergolas surrounds the villa and the swimming pool, providing ample shade and secluded areas for those wishing to escape from the sun. Also provided is an outside covered BBQ area offering ideal opportunities for al fresco dining. The villa is a fifteen minute drive to Myrtos beach and a thirty minute drive to the atmospheric little harbour of Assos.

Notes on accommodation
While the villa accommodates up to 8 persons, our strong preference is to limit the number to a maximum of 6, except where children or other members of the family are included. It should be made clear here, however, that any decision to accommodate more than 6 is entirely at our discretion. The property has air-conditioning provided in each bedroom and is central heated throughout. The accommodation is provided on multiple levels with a gallery overlooking the sitting room while garden has numerous terraces. These features require small children to be supervised.

Accessibility
The split-level accommodation offered by Roz Villa and its multiple level terraced garden are not ideal for people with mobility problems, particularly since no adaptations have been made to accommodate wheelchair users. Children should be supervised at all times, especially in the garden and around the swimming pool, balconies and steps.
Outside
Roz Villa is surrounded by an enchanting mature garden endowed with a host of Mediterranean flowers and fruit trees, including peach, lemon, nectarine and apricot trees. As guests enter the gates of the villa's grounds they are welcomed by a stunning purple bougainvillea and the smell of jasmine. To the rear of the house is an olive grove while to the side of the villa, overlooking the swimming pool (11 x 4.4m with a depth of 1.35-2.20m), is a shaded BBQ area. The grounds include several patio areas distributed throughout the plot with a selection of patio furniture.
Coast/Beach
A 15 minute drive west of Roz Villa is Myrtos Beach - voted one of the top ten beaches in the world. 25 minutes to the east of the villa is Anti Samos Beach - the location for part of the film set of Captain Corelli's Mandolin - an ideal place for snorkelling. Within and just outside Agia Efimia there are numerous small beaches and coves, while near the village of Karavomilos (2km outside Sami) is the precipitous Melissani Cave.
Special interest holidays
Apart from the fabulous opportunities for water based sport, including scuba diving, yachting and swimming in the summer, during the off-season periods (March-April and October-November) there are a variety of outdoor activities that can be used as a basis for special interest holidays for horse trekking, walking, bird watching, painting and photography. This makes Roz Villa an ideal base for nature lovers and out-door activities.
Travel
Kefalonia Airport is approximately 40km from Roz Villa, while the port of Sami, which offers car ferries links to the mainland and to Italy, is 10km from the villa. To fully enjoy what Kefalonia has to offer it is essential to hire a car - we can arrange for your use a hired car to be collected/dropped off at the airport. Taxi rate to/from Airport/Villa is approximately 45 Euros.
Distances
Kefalonia Airport is approximately one hour's drive from Roz Villa. Sami port is 15 mins drive. Recommended places to visit (with distances from Roz Villa) include: Argostoli (30km), Assos (10 km), Fiskardo (30 km), Skala (40km) and Poros (30km).
Further details
Agia Efimia has several supermarkets, two bakeries, a post office, a chemist, a cash point, numerous tavernas, bars and coffee bars. One can hire cars and mopeds and motorboats in the village and book tennis courts and scuba diving lessons. The municipality of Pylaros, in which Agia Efimia is located, offers numerous enchanting walks both in the valley and the surrounding mountains with breathtaking views and wonderful varieties of flora and fauna. Local villages, such as Makriotika and Drakapoulata, offer an insight into unspoilt Greek rural life and numerous buildings and sites of historical interest. We recommend a trip to Mount Enos, Kefalonias highest mountain, to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Kefalonia and other Ionian Islands. Stop for some local wine-tasting at the village of Frangata. Follow the dramatic cliff and mountain road to Myrtos Beach, then wind down in the atmospheric little harbour of Assos. Take a boat trip from Sami across to nearby Ithaca or take the twice-daily boat trip from Fiscardo to explore Lefkas. Explore the fishing port of Fiskardo for its smart yachts and charming narrow streets of Venetian-style houses. Native to Kefalonia are some of the best beaches in Greece. Hire a small boat and spend the day visiting tiny isolated beaches and coves all along the pretty coastline. Drive along the main coastal road to Sami and stumble across small scattered beaches amongst the rocks.
Much of the busy nightlife in Kefalonia is concentrated in the main town of Argostoli. The central square is lined with many restaurants, cafes and bars.
In Kefalonia you will find an abundance of spectacular scenery, traditional tavernas, stunning white beaches and warm, friendly Greek hospitality.

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking (refundable). Provisional bookings will be held for 7 days max. The balance is to be paid 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. Security deposits of £250 to be paid with the balance. In the event of non-payment on the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking. Cancellation refunds: up to 8 weeks - no cancellation charge. After 8 weeks: 4-8 weeks -50% of rate refunded; 2-4 weeks - 25% of rate refunded; less than 2 weeks - no refund.
