On Skiathos Island (host to hit film "Mamma Mia"), Orchard Villa sits on a low ridge over the stretch of coast considered to offer the best panoramic views on Skiathos. Set in a half-acre hillside garden and olive grove with pool and totally stunning views, the architect-designed villa has traditional blue wooden shutters, red-tiled roofs and front porch, sun-bathers roof terrace, and a large flag-stoned split-level lounge with winter log fireplace, and American-style open-plan kitchen and ‘pub’-style bar. Four air-conditioned double bedrooms with exposed wood-beam ceilings sleep ideally 6 (8 max.); the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and three twin bedrooms sharing two shower-rooms. Four French windows open from the lounge onto a vine-covered walled and furnished patio for outdoor living above rose and flower gardens, and sunbathing terraces down to an infinity-view pool. Nearby there's a handful of other villas, and two small family hotels with scenic pool bars open to you.

Notes on prices
Prices for each 1 week taken in a minimum of a 2 week rental and with up to 6 beds taken. Call us for advice to find sensible flight prices. Discounts or premiums apply to other periods or if change-over day not Friday. Orchard Villa has 4 bedrooms / 8 beds, and is ideally for 6 adults; or 4 adults + 4 kids. Beds 7-8 half-price pro-rata. Terms: to book, 50% on account; balance 10 clear weeks before start. You must insure fully against travel risks, cancellation, and accidents at the villa.

| Bedrooms: | One en-suite master bedroom (king-size), three twin guest bedrooms, two can be as doubles. So we can sleep up to 8; but ideally 6 as the fourth twin makes a squeeze if all 8 are adults. Night air-conditioning in bedroooms if needed (daytime supplement). |
| Bathrooms: | Master-bedroom wing has en-suite shower, small bath, bidet, wc, wash-basin. Three guest-wing bedrooms share two separate shower rooms each with wc, shower, wash-basin. |
| Kitchen: | All recently renewed: cooker with ceramic hobs and hood, microwave, toaster, elec kettle, filter and Senseo coffees, 2 fridges + freezer compartments, work surface, double sink, dishwasher, washing machine, cook-book library, wine rack, loads of storage. |

Bed and bath linen included (but NOT for use as beach towels please) and changed weekly. Also included are change-over housekeeping, and light cleaning of patios each week, gardening and pool cleaning; on-call maintenance (British) available. |
Notes on accommodation
Bedrooms are air-conditioned, although not needed for most of the summer. The villa and grounds are very suitable for children, particularly if the party prefers to stay here with little "beaching". The pool has only one access point to keep children away from danger, but all non-swimmers near the pool should of course be under adult supervision.

Accessibility
Orchard Villa is very practical in case of partial mobility (owner convalesced here afer double hip replacement!), front door a few shallow steps away from level car access. But, not practical for anyone wholly wheel-chair bound (and... whilst looking for your ideal villa, remember - even without mobility problems, much Greek island accomodation may be a long way &/or very steep from nearest vehicle access; Orchard Villa is quite the opposite!)
Outside
Lounge living space extends onto a large walled and vine-shaded patio (10x5m/33x16ft) with almond and olive trees, and panoramic view over a half-acre private garden and olive/fig grove with two further terraces downhill to private 8x5m (27x16ft) infinity sea-view pool... all overlooking the stretch of coast considered locally to offer the very best views on Skiathos. Fully furnished for outside living (hardwood tables / chairs); parties and sunbathing on garden terraces, and the roof sun-terrace (not overlooked).
Coast/Beach
Skiathos has a spectacular coastline of bays, islands, and over 50 mostly sandy beaches/coves within 5-20 mins drive. All but the smallest have tavernas, and the dozen or so largest have watersports, sunbeds, etc. There's small-boat hire for fishing or just pottering, 2 scuba diving schools, water-skiing, parascending, fun speed-boat tows, sailing, snorkelling, horse-riding, and walks. Closest beaches 1km/½ mile or so downhill (3 mins drive; or 20 mins walk for the energetic and heat-proof).

Water-skiing on all the larger beaches of course!
Travel
Skiathos airport 12 mins drive (no intrusive noise at villa); call us about sensible flight prices, not so easy this year! Charters from many UK and EU airports; also scheduled low-cost flights to Athens, and to Skiathos by local flight or taxi/coach and ferry. Car hire strongly recommended; or use the efficient radio taxis, or local buses. Ferries, water taxis and day-trip boats to nearby islands and the mainland. Long rentals: UK by car, say 3½ days, Europe 2 - 2½; virtually all motorway.
Distances
Picturesque stone-built and pedestrianised Skiathos village and harbour hosted the hit film "Mamma Mia". Its shops, harbour, marina, tavernas-bars-clubs, and all services are 10 mins. drive or 50 mins. hill walk. There are scheduled ferry or excursion-boat day trips to other islands and a marine park (dolphins/seals), also day-trips (just about ...) to classic mainland sites (Athens-Delphi-Meteora).
