Changeover day
Flexible changeover day. However, most direct flights to local airport at Chania arrive and depart on Tuesdays. Easyjet flights are available to Chania on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays.

Notes on accommodation
In the grounds are the remains of a 500 year old shepherd's hut. There is a large private pool (10.5m x 4.5m) and extensive gardens. The shepherd's hut provides a shady retreat from the midday sun and there is a further terrace away from the main house perfect for watching the sunset and having sundowners. The villa is not equipped for very young children.

A very large private pool (10.5mx4.5m6) with sea views. Sun loungers and sunshades provided. An outside shower is also available.
Extensive gardens with mature Olive and Carob trees. Two large patio areas for sunbathing or barbecues. BBQ equipment provided. Table and chairs available on the covered terrace as well as a further table and chairs in the sun.
Coast/Beach
5 mins drive (2km) to the wonderful 2009 Blue Flag sandy beach at Almiryda with it's restaurants and tavernas. In and around the picturesque sea side village of Almyrida you will find excellent beaches, surfing and water sports, tavernas, shops and supermarkets.
Travel
Flights with Olympic Airlines, Aegean Airlines, Easyjet, Monarch, Thomsonfly and First Choice are available to Chania from most of the major UK airports. Chania airport is approx 40 mins drive from Villa Tamos.
Alternatively, flights to Heraklion are available with all the above and Jet2.com. Heraklion airport is 1.75 hours from villa Tamos. Car hire with the major firms is available at both Chania and Heraklion airports or locally in Almiryda.

Further details
Crete is one of the most beautiful and unpolluted sites in the region and is an amalgam of the best of Greece. Western Crete offers many sights and activities. The magnificent White Mountains, often capped in snow during the winter months, offer fantastic opportunities for walkers, particularly the Samaria Gorge, which meanders for 18km down a tortuous trail to the pretty resort of Agia Roumeli. The natural freshwater lake of Kournas provides a picturesque venue for lunch or a swim.
Elsewhere, the Venetian-influenced town of Chania, once the capital of ancient Crete, offers quaint, narrow streets as well as a beautiful harbour lined with tavernas and cafes serving excellent local cuisine. Further afield, a water park at Limnoupolis, the biggest karting track in Crete, opportunities for boat trips from the harbour at Chania and historical sights such as the World War 2 Allied and German cemeteries.
Booking notes
Preferred payment method cheque, 25% deposit upon booking with balance paid 10 weeks before first night. There is also a refundable security deposit required. Villa available from 2pm on days of arrival. Departure to be before 10am, although later departure may be arranged if available.

We both wanted to say a huge thank you to you both for a truly wonderful stay at Villa Tamos – it is a real Cretan Paradise – a fantastic spotlessly clean and well equipped villa, breathtaking views, a superb pool and wonderful grounds - what more could we ask for? We had the greatest of difficulty tearing ourselves away - in fact we only left the villa twice during our seven day stay.
We arrived back from Crete yesterday evening after a wonderful holiday at your villa. It really is in an idyllic location and we spent many a happy hour sat outside looking at the mountains or across Souda Bay or just admiring the array of flowers in the garden. We could smell the lavendar while we were swimming and I think I found thyme in one of the other flower beds. The views from the upstairs balcony of the sea and the mountains are breathtaking.

This area is stunningly beautiful. Every view is a photo opportunity.
The peace and tranquility of the place and the laid back life style just instantly relax me. The people are so warm and welcoming.
I love that the shops close on Wednesday afternoons and Sundays, so that they can spend time with family.
The food is a revelation and I always return home promising to have to be extra good after over indulging!
Unique benefits of the property
The view speaks for itself. It took our breath away and we just love it.
We love that we have the peace and quiet and privacy of our own place in the sun, but within a couple of minutes can be down at the beach with some wonderful tavernas.
