The 'Old House' is set in the end of an old Lefkadian settlement called 'Pigadissani' near the village of Karya.The most incredible panoramic views can be experienced from the large veranda with the mulberry tree and a built-in barbecue to the side. 'Old House' dates back to 1870, and has undergone a very sensitive restoration, that makes the most of the weathered old stone fabric of the building, its simple village architecture and it's setting. This particularly beautiful house has a wonderfully evocative atmosphere due to the sensitive conversion by its architect owners. Inside the Old house there is an open plan sitting with fire place, dining area and kitchen with breakfast bar; utility/shower room; open wooden stairs to upper floor with sitting hall to 1 double bedroom and 2 twin bedded rooms; large bathroom. The guest room has 1 two-bedded room; kitchenette and bathroom with jacuzzi bath. The Old house sleeps 6 and the guest room located beside the pool terrace sleeps 2.

Changeover day
Bookings are Sunday to Sunday. The villa is available from 2pm on the day of arrival. Guests are requested to vacate the villa not later than 10am on the day of departure.

Outside
A large veranda with a central mulberry tree and a built-in barbecue to the side, provides attractive sitting and dining areas with spectacular views across the surrounding countryside. A private swimming pool (8m x 4m) with constant depth (1,40m), with sunbeds and umbrella for the guests to use, between the main house and the guest cottage. Beautiful old stone paths and walls. Mature trees and plants.
Coast/Beach
The pretty seaside village of Aghios Nikitas and famous nearby beaches such as 'Kathisma' and 'Milos', are a distance of 7-11km from the 'Old House'. Excellent 'Potissies' beach is at a distance of 7km. Famous 'Porto Katsiki' beach is 45km away. (All these beaches have been awarded with blue flag).
Travel
31km from Preveza-Lefkada airport. Taxis are available, while renting a car is most convenient. The important port of Igoumenitsa, 120km away, is linked 3-4 times daily with ferries to the main Italian ports.
Distances
The villa is just 1km away from Karya, the main village in the center of the island, which has a good selection of shops, tavernas and cafe bars. Lefkas town is 14km away.
Further details
The area of Pigadissani-Karya is famous for the colorful hand woven carpets and precious embroideries as well as for the very good climate during the hot months of July/August. Enjoy a nice meal at the many tavernas laying around the main square covered by the thick shadow of superb sycamore trees. Tell Georgia of the small tavern 'sta Platania' to make you try her delicious zucchini pie.
