The house was built more than 150 years ago, and the first restoration was in 1879. Charalambos Liandris, a legendary hero in the fight for freedom of the monastery of Arkadi, was born in this house. In 1999 the stone house was restored again and since this time until 2006 it was used as residence of Chara Liandri & her family. The property is divided into 2 buildings: The main house and the guest house. Both are connected through a small bridge. There is a total of 4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. There are spectacular views from the verandas to the Mediterranean. The property is located in the village Atsipopoulo, a few minutes from Rethymno. The centre of the village is in walking distance. Furniture & equipment is of high quality. The house can also be rented in the winter time due to central heating. It should be pointed out that this property is especially suitable for renting to two close families because of the subdivision into main house and the guest house.

There are two verandas on the first floor, both with spectacular views to the Mediterranean and the White Mountains. Outdoor furniture is of high quality.
Coast/Beach
The closest beach is 4kms from the property and can be reached by car in less than 10 minutes.
There are beautiful long sandy beaches in the area of Rethymno. These beaches are never crowded. There is also a sandy beach inside town. This beach offers watersport etc.
In the south part of Crete (30min. by car) you can find quiet beaches (also for nudists).
Beaches on the island are very clean and the water quality is very good. Crete has more than 60 blue flags for the quality of the beaches.
Golf
The largest and most modern golf course in Greece is located on Crete. By car it is approx. 75 minutes drive from the property location.
