Guest comments
Just to let you know we had a marvellous holiday and loved Chrani and the area around we had a very good hire car deal from Kostas and enjoyed the company of Janis in the Poseidon bar. Well we got back home on Sunday after a fantastic two weeks.

Absolutely did what it said on the box. Very peaceful, laid back time everybody did their own thing and it worked perfectly. Kostas was an absolute sweetheart with cars and things and very welcoming as were Iannis, Mary and George. The kids loved the bar, Jamie took his guitar and played a couple of songs sometimes and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

We just got back from Greece today and I wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time and the villa was absolutely perfect for our needs.  We tended to go the beach early, spend the hottest part of the day at the villa (Emily loved pottering around the veranda) and go to the beach again late afternoon.

Owner profile

Sailing in Chrani with our family last summer

Year purchased: 2005

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We bought in the Peloponnese as we wanted to be able to drive down to Greece with our dog which we do 3 times a year. During the summer we fly to Kalamata airport as it is so convenient. But this area has been the most wonderful discovery. It's the way the islands were 20 years ago - very Greek, very rural, very uncrowded with such friendly people and jolly good food. Add to that all the fascinating places nearby - Venetian forts, ancient sites, beautiful mountains, spectacular caves, lovely waterfalls - it has everything. But best of all are our lovely neighbours and friends in Chrani.

Unique benefits of the property
We love our villa of course. It has so much character. The garden is delightful with oranges and lemon trees, over 40 rose bushes and huge palm trees. The villa keeps remarkable cool through the hot summer with its shady terraces. We love the outside kitchen and huge barbecue - great for entertaining. Best of all it's less than 100 m from a lovely beach and the most beautiful view across to the mountains of the Mani. If you just want to laze around and chill out, everything you need is within 5 minutes walk - half-a-dozen tavernas, a couple of bars and 2 minimarkets. A short stroll down the beach brings you to a couple of beach bars where you can have a light lunch.
