Villa Alexina is perfect for those looking for the real greek experience, away from “new villa” areas with the noise and views of new building mushrooming around you. Villa Alexina is one of the oldest manor houses in the area, once owned by the aristocratic family who once lived here and ruled this northern region of the island. This sixteenth century house has been sensitively renovated by its English owners, using local materials and craftsmen in order to retain as much of the original character and features wherever possible, it is once more a magnificent house. Outside spacious terraces and well-designed private pool areas, offer a variety of shaded areas, including a dining table with comfortable seating.

Villa is surrounded by estate wall providing enclosed area for children. Stair gate fitted to top floor. Baby alarm available with points in every room and outside seating areas. Air conditioning available on top floor, en-suite bedroom has ceiling fan and french doors opening to outside private veranda.

Not suitable for wheelchairs due to cobblestones and uneven flagstones, sorry.
Outside
The majestic position of this villa, offers panoramic views from the various levels from the bedroom verandas to the lower pool area, encompassing sea and mountain vistas.
The variety of outside space, is much appreciated by family/friend groups who are able to access private as well as communal outside areas.
Child safety has been of paramount importance in the renovation of Villa Alexina, dangerous areas can be closed off by lockable gates. The pool area can be locked by high bolts through two separate gates, in order to prevent young children wandering down unsupervised. The smaller children's pool encourages children to develop water confidence and provides separation from the main swimming area. Shade, sun loungers and ample water toys are provided.
Coast/Beach
Many beautiful beaches are within a few minutes from the villa, the closest being St Spyridon.
Golf
The 18 hole Corfu golf course is set in stunning location is only a 45 minute drive from the villa.
Special interest holidays
The owners have close links to the Durrell School of Corfu, www.durrells-school-corfu.org. Option available to anybody wishing to attend the school, followed/preceded with a week in the villa. Owners are also affiliated to a sailing school in Kontakali www.pinnacleyachts.co.uk. Price for either of these combinations on application. Links with the local scuba diving school enable arrangement for personal collection from the villa. We also have close links with www.theinvisiblekitchen.co.uk who will bring meals to the villa or cater on site.
Travel
Corfu airport is one hour's drive from the villa and has frequent charter flights from the UK and scheduled flights four times a day from Athens.
Daily ferries arrive from mainland Greece and ports in Italy with budget airlines (Brindisi/Venice/Ancona).
Car hire recommended, particularly in the high season.

Distances
Perithia is centrally located for surrounding beaches, shops and good restaurants (several of which have been featured by Rick Stein) all within ashort drive down either coastline. Corfu has an extensive footpath network for those who enjoy walking – the villa has a comprehensive information pack on routes around both the immediate and whole island.
Further details
The village has two well stocked shops, there are supermarkets in both Kassiopi and Acharavi - where you can also find banks, money exchanges and ATMs. There are many excellent fish restaurants and meat tavernas close by, including one in walking distance from the villa. Water sports, bike, car and boat hire can also be easily arranged.
