I have had my house for over 14 years. It was once the school house and many of the old people of the village were educated in it. It sits in the friendly village of Loutses in the mountains of NE Corfu.Ther is a large dining/sitting area downstairs with a well-equipped kitchen off it. From the lounge you can access a vine- covered patio where you can sit and count the butterflies. From here, a small set of steps takes you down into the garden where you can lie in hammocks under the walnut tree. You may have to share the garden with my neighbour Vassiliki's chickens and the odd wild tortoise. The village has a small grill if you do not feel like cooking and a wonderful local bar where you can sit and stare at the mountains and watch the sun go down. Sandy or pebbly beaches are a 10 minutes drive with sparkling seas. Boat-hire and pony trekking nearby.

Changeover day
Changeover day is usually Monday as this is the day when most of the charters form England arrive, but this can be flexible.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | There are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with twins. |
| Bathrooms: | A bathroom with constant hot water on the first level. |
| Kitchen: | Cooker, fridge, washing machine, cutlery, plates, cooking utensils, iron with ironing board and hairdryer. |
| Living Rooms: | Double sofa bed, TV DVD, large dining table seating 6/8 people, telephone for incomng and local calls, wood burning stove, other comfy chairs. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Sheets but not towels included. Property cleaned before occupancy but please leave it clean and tidy when you leave. |
Notes on accommodation
Many of my friends have had idyllic holidays in Loutses with their children of all ages. The locals love them, and the bar welcomes them... this is a working village, where people grow their own vegetables and keep their own sheep and goats and there is always something to see.
Outside
Garden furniture includes loungers, tables and chairs, hammocks provided. Also lilos, masks and snorkels.
Coast/Beach
The house is a 10 min drive from various lovely beaches, sandy and pebbly an with safe swimming. Most beaches have a taverna... details of particularly lovely ones are in the house. Boat hire is available from nearby and boat trips from Kassiopi, the nearest small town, can be booked in Perithia, the village at the bottom of the hill.
Travel
The nearest airport is in Corfu Town, about 28km away. Car hire is essential. This can be arranged to include pickup for the first journey.
Further details
Supermarkets and banks are in Akaravi, 15 mins drive along the coast, or in Kassiopi 10 mins in the other direction. Local shopping is at the bottom of the hill in Perithia, where there are also 2 very good tavernas. At the very top of the mountain, another 10 mins up the hill, lies Old Perithia, an ancient Venetian village, mostly deserted, but with one or 2 tavernas serving terrific local dishes.
