An area of great natural beauty unspoilt by tourism, this is an idyllic base for your perfect holiday. The local inhabitants will make you welcome with their warm hospitality. Koroni is a picturesque medieval town with its harbour and quaint cobbled alleyways overlooked by the Venetian castle, floodlit at night. Famous Saga beach, nesting ground for the Caretta Caretta turtle, is 15 minutes walk from our apartments. There are 3 to 4km of sand so you can always find a quiet spot! There is also a sailing and wind-surfing school on this beach. Koroni is situated about 50km from Kalamata, and there are many interesting sites to visit around the area - castles, caves, waterfalls, and archaeological sites including of course ancient Olympia where the Olympic games first took place. Plenty of sun, sea, sand, many excellent tavernas and local wine - hardly surprising that people return to us each year!

Changeover day
Changeover day between May and October is generally Sunday to coincide with UK-Kalamata flights but we can be flexible. Bookings outside this period may commence on any day to suit you.

Notes on accommodation
All rooms are cleaned and linen/towels changed once a week.

The property is situated on a narrow cobbled street where there is no traffic. Parking is a few mins walk away in the square.

Accessibility
Koroni is built on a hillside by the sea and with its hilly cobbled lanes and steps is not ideal for wheelchairs!

Coast/Beach
There is a small sandy beach in the town of Koroni, and pebbly coves around the castle for snorkelling in the crystal clear waters. Saga beach is a sandy beach 3 or 4km long and is about 15 mins walking distance from the apartments. The sea is clean and safe for swimming. There are excursions by boat around the coast and nearby small islands from Koroni harbour.

Travel
You can fly directly to Kalamata from various UK airports between May and October. Car hire is not expensive and we can arrange for a car to be left at the airport for your arrival. It takes under an hour to drive from Kalamata to Koroni. Taxis cost around 30 euros. Alternatively, there are flights all year to Athens. From there you can travel to Kalamata by hire-car in about 4 hours, or there is an excellent coach service non-stop Athens to Kalamata for about 30 euros.

Further details
There is plenty of fresh produce available locally, including fish of course, and also mini markets for convenience shopping. There are many good tavernas in Koroni and it is well worth visiting others in the surrounding villages. Koroni is not the place to come if you want wild nightlife but there are 2 night clubs and a small discotheque just outside Koroni for those who might enjoy a dance occasionally - as well as the traditional music and dancing on local celebration days.

Booking notes
20% non-returnable deposit required on confirmation of booking. The remainder will be due 6 weeks prior to arrival. In the case of last minute bookings (ie. within 6 weeks of arrival) the total price must be paid at the time of booking.
