Changeover days are on a Tues to Tues basis. We are flexible to meet most requirements, subject to other bookings and arrival times. Please call for further details.
Accommodation

| Living Rooms: | Large spacious lounge with 30 channel TV, DVD player and 2 high quality sofabeds. A wide and fun selection of games such as dominoes, playing cards are also supplied at the villa for your enjoyment. |

Villa Josephine is fully air-conditioned throughout and the cost of this and water as well as electricity usage is included within the listed rental rates. Spacious open-plan accommodation. Peaceful village edge location on no through road and Within easy reach of lovely beaches, shops and amenities. The villa has air-conditioning units that also act as heaters if required for early and late season visitors. Hot water is provided by means of solar power, backed up by electricity. The villa is surrounded by a fence and locked gates making it perfectly safe for children and a long way from any busy roads making the villa is extremely popular with families with young children. We strongly advise you reserve the villa early to avoid any disapointments.
Accessibility
The Villa Josephine has been designed on one level and therefore suitable for the disabled, although not purposely designed for wheelchair access, it will accommodate most disabled persons and with easy reach of the village centre, Tavernas and restaurants.
Outside
The detached Villa Joesphine is situated in its own large plot and surrounded by garden shrubs. It has its very own barbecue and pool for the exclusive use of guests. Outside dining furniture and sun loungers are also supplied at the villa. The sleepy unspoilt village of Chorafakia is just a light 10 minute stroll away and has an 2 excellent mini-markets, restaurants and three excellent traditional tavernas. Guests can enjoy both countryside and mountain views while swimming in the pool and the large pool terrace provides an alternative area for sunbathing. A particular feature of this villa is its open front aspect, Large terrace with table and chairs for 6 persons, sun loungers around swimming pool and a barbecue. The under pergola dining area and terrace at the front of the villa provides a relaxing place out of the mid day sun for taking family meals making it perfect for that long awaited lunch whilst watching the children having fun in the large private pool.
Coast/Beach
Villa Josephine is within easy reach of five fabulous family beaches that are ideal for a family day out. The famous Stavros beach is just a 5 minute drive away as is the popular and friendly blue beach and Tersanas beaches, which are all perfect for swimming and snorkeling. A guest manual is provided at the villa for your interest and includes full details on entertainment, boat trips and beaches in this region.
Golf
A 19 hole proffesional golf course was built in 2004 situated near Heraklion which is 1 hour 30mins drive from the villa.
Special interest holidays
The area around the villa is famous for its fabulous beaches, walking tours and trips to Samaria Gorge would be a must for the enthusiast. Two water parks are located on the island with the nearest being just 25mins drive from the villa. Chania harbour is a lovely area to explore with a variety of local shops and stalls. The Market in Chania hosts a variety of local produce including fish, meats and local herbs and spices. Lake Koudos is a short drive away and provides an alternative setting to the seaside. The local beaches are an ideal spot for sunworshippers and families as their shallow waters provide a safe area to paddle, build sand castles and have fun beside the sea. Sunbeds are available on the beaches (a small cost is involved) and as the tavernas are within a few steps. Stavros beach is an ideal spot to enjoy a cold beer or glass of retsina at lunchtime.

Further details
The quiet and traditional village of Chorafakia has an excellent bakery, two mini-markets, and three excellent tradtional tavernas. Travel downhill through the village and you will come to the beautiful Tersanas Beach. Its gently sloping sandy beach and shallow waters are very popular with families. Stavros Beach: This famous beach is enclosed by the circular bay where you can enjoy the sea and sun. A small fishing harbour is built here and it is the right place to have dinner and nice walking tours. Stavros is also the place where the famous film 'Zorba the Greek' was produced. Kalathas Beach: where you can treat yourself with windsurfing rental and instruction lessons, waterskiing, canoes or scuba diving. Kalathas is a small natural bay on the edge of a ravine, with a quiet, sandy beach. Also visitors can swim to the small island which is very close by. The beach is very shallow and ideal for children and families. Loutraki Beach is a tiny beach with extremely crystal clear water and perfect for snorkeling. Marathi Beach was discovered a few years ago by the inhabitants of Chania. Nice sandy beach with warm shallow water. The allied war cemetary at Souda.
This site has row upon row of immaculately kept headstones, and illustrates the full calamity of the Battle of Crete during May 1941. A memorial service is held here each May. The village of Gavalochori (40min drive from villa) belonged to the Byzantine Gavaladon family and has pretty restored houses in narrow streets, a small museum of 19c household objects and an ancient settlement with 30 Byzantine wells on the outskirts. Lake Kournas(45 min drive from villa)boasts the island’s only fresh water lake, sheltered in a bowl of hills. During the day the colours of the lake change as the sun moves round the rim of the bowl. Hire a pedalo or canoe and look for the terrapins. There are a few restaurants around the edge of the lake making this a nice family day out.

A reservation deposit of just £100 is required to secure your chosen dates with the balance due 8 weeks prior to departure. Complete driving directions (with photographs) to the villa are supplied with your booking. A hire car is highly recommended to make the most of this wonderful region and details will be forwarded with your "Confirmation of Booking" letter.
