A modern fully detached villa on two floors with cool ceramic floors throughout and a marble staircase. All windows and doors are mahogany and have louvre shutters which keep the house cool and secure. Downstairs is a spacious open plan lounge, dining area, a fully equipped modern kitchen, and a bathroom with shower. Fronting the villa is a shady pergola covered terrace perfect for relaxing with a book or a glass of wine while admiring the panoramic view from the mountains, across the valley, and down to the Arsaniou Monastery and the Aegean Sea. Bamboo pull-down roller blinds are available for further shade. Villa guests enjoy sole use of a new private 5 seater heated and ozonated Jacuzzi. Upstairs the villa has two air-conditioned bedrooms with French doors that open onto a sunny pergola covered terrace, and a modern bathroom with bath. There is a small garden around the villa with a mature olive tree, young orange & lemon trees, and a small patio at the back with a stone BBQ.

Rates are for 4 persons per week. Rates include preparation of the villa and Jacuzzi, provision of linen and towels (including beach towels), a small starter food pack, and reasonable use of electricity. A refundable damage deposit of £100 is required. Winter rates exclude electricity. Payment is accepted in Euros or UK pounds by Paypal or bank transfer. Rates are subject to change. Both bedrooms have modern remotely controlled inverter air conditioners that can both cool or heat the bedrooms as required. Notes on accommodation

The lounge has a 32” flat screen TV with a satellite decoder that receives all free-to-air channels from Astra 1, Astra 2, and NileSat, via 2 satellite dishes, including BBC News, CNN, Eurosport (in German), multiple music, movie, and entertainment channels, and the 6 BBC Interactive red button streams for Wimbledon, F1 etc. An upscaling DVD player is also provided and a mini-HiFi with an auxilliary input for MP3 players. Heaters are available for Winter use. The villa has a new private 2m x 2m five seater heated ozonated hydrotherapy Jacuzzi fitted with 31 water jets, and 8 air bubble nozzles. At night lights can be illuminated.The Jacuzzi is private and for the exclusive use of guests of the villa only. The villa has a good mobile signal so 3G Internet access is available. A Cot, High-chair, and stair guards can be provided as optional extras. There is room to park 2 cars off road on the large gravelled parking area in front of the villa.

Location Information: The villa is situated on the side of a valley at Hamalevri, a peaceful Cretan village just 1.8Km inland from the Cretan North coast at Stavromenos and its shops, tavernas, and beaches. We recommend hiring a car because the walk back to the villa from Stavromenos, although only 1.8 Km is uphill. If you don't want to hire a car, taxis are usually available. Rethymno is just a 10 minute drive West along the new National road. Heraklion airport is 70 kms East (a 50 minutes drive) along the new scenic coast road. Chania airport is 60 Kms West along the scenic coast road. Nearby along the coast are the resorts of Scaleta and Panormo to the East, and Adelianos campos and Platanias to the West, all with numerous sandy beaches, shady tavernas (some by the sea) for alfresco dining, supermarkets and shops. Hamalevri has its own Kafenion and within walking distance at the adjacent village of Asteri only 250 m - 500 m away, there are two mini shops, another Kafenion, and a taverna which does delicious spare-ribs and spit roasted lamb. The picturesque harbour at Panormo is only a 10 minute drive East.
