Traditional Cretan villa with a private pool, roof terrace and stunning views across the valley to the sea, which is 5 minutes drive away. Heraklion airport is 50 minutes away. The patio area around the swimming pool has 4 sunbeds and an umbrella. There are 2 gardens (upper and lower) , and off street parking. Also there are other 2 patios, one near the pool and the other one in the front of the villa. Patio table with 6 chairs.

The nearest beach is 5 minutes drive.

There is a golf course in about 30 minutes drive from the villa.

Travel
Rethymno is situated roughly half way between the islands 2 airports in Herklion and Chania. It is 50 minutes to Herklion and 45 minutes to Chania.
Distances
Adele village is 1 minute by car. Rethymno is a 10 minutes drive. Car hire is a must but here you are well positioned to see most of the island.
Further details
Crete is the most southerly of the Greek islands and is blessed with a lovely climate, lovely beeches, high mountains, breathtaking views and an amazing history. Also the food is great.

The couple who manage the villa were brilliant and they look after your villa very well. They care for the pool very well and ensure the garden sprinklers all work. They were also very personable, not at all intrusive, and we often shared a glass of wine and chatted while the pool was tended to. By the way, thank you for the offer of sending us to the waterpark.

About the owner
My name is Ibrahim, I am British/Egyptian. I work as a finance analyst and management accountant. I bought Sunset Villa 5 years ago. It's not just a holiday home for me, it's much more than that. I picked Crete, because I use to go there each summer holiday when I was student in Alexandria University, I use to work in farms, restaurants and hotels. I made loads of friends and I speak the Greek language. It was a dream for me to build a house in Crete as I felt it’s my home and because I came from a very poor back ground, that would be my first house ever. I finished at university then went to the UK to specialise in management accounts. Worked very hard, saved some money then went back to look for a plot of land and build it with a new vision in my mind of a holiday home.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I went to many places in Crete, to buy the plot of land I have imagined, but nothing really made me move.
One day I went to see a plot of land in Agia Triada village, when I arrived to the land and stood on the land, I said wow, I said yes from the first time I visited the area, it was just exactly what I wanted, near the beach, supermarkets and restaurants but far enough to be in peace and quiet. The views from where I stood were magic. It's very strange how you can feel that you are related to a place from the first time, you just feel home. I have a lot of in put in designing the villa, so I feel it is my baby! I wanted to make the villa different than other holiday homes. I wanted people to feel home, relaxed, in peace and enjoying every minute in there holiday.

A holiday in sunset villa will re-charge your batteries because of the fresh air, peace and quite. The villa is surrounded with magic views of the sea, mountains, olive groves and the valley across. Where ever you are in the villa you will enjoy the views even when you sit in the sitting room having a drink, you will see the valley across and this is one of the benefits you get in sunset villa and you wouldn’t be able to get it in many places due to the location of the villa, as it is high in a hill so you can have a better views from any where in the villa. If you go to the roof terrace, that’s another 2 big benefits, number 1 as the views is even better, benefit number 2, you will have more time in the sun while other surrounding villas in the area have no sun around sunset time.
