Villa Lagada boasts a list of facilities rarely found in villas to rent in Crete. Our aim has been to create a villa where you can really holiday in private surroundings with almost every whim catered for. This is a spacious, bright and attractively designed villa of fine quality. Impressive and appealing furnishings adorn the lounge and dining room including a leather 3 piece suite. Large screen TV (sat TV) with an open fire place and patio doors from the lounge, dining room and kitchen all leading to the extensive patio and pool area. There is hot and cold air conditioning units in each room. Set on the ridge overlooking the sea with the mountains all around. Tranquil yet 5 minutes drive from the shops, tavernas and the quaint harbour where you can hire boats. Let the world go by while watching the crystal clear sea under the shade of the trees on the beach at Diaskari Taverna. 5 min drive up the hill is Dragons Cave Taverna with the most stunning views of the whole of Makrigialos.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible please discuss with us. Arrival time 2pm. Departure time 10am. Please call and discuss if these times do not coincide with your flight times.

Notes on accommodation
Wifi & Internet access is now available at the villa along with many bars and restaurants in the area. Satellite TV is also now connected plus hundreds of DVD's.
Smoking is only permitted outside the villa.
Accessibility
From the parking area there is clear access into the Villa and around to the sun terraces and pool area. The downstairs bedroom and wet room (with hand rails) makes this room suitable for those that need a little extra help and do not wish to take the stairs.
Outside
With the sun terrace being of extensive size you do not realise there are 10 sun loungers situated around the 10 x 6 private pool, which has gradual steps at the shallow end. Ample soft seating areas in and out of the sun for everyone to sit together. 3 bedroom balconies with seating plus a very large roof terrace (go and see the shooting stars!). Large BBQ and marble dining table and chairs with a pergola over to keep away the sun while you eat.
New Cacti, rock and herb gardens and further trees planted this year, along with a stunning new sweeping driveway and walled parking area.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is a 10 min walk away (3 min drive). There are 4 main beaches in the area along with many beautiful secluded bays and coves along the coastline.
Special interest holidays
Makrigialos is surrounded by thousands of acres of raw, majestic, Cretan countryside and mountains ideal for gorge walking, visiting the remains of roman Minoan villas. Peace, tranquility and the most superb scenery lends itself to the writer and painters amongst us.
Travel
The main airport is Heraklion, approx 1.5 to 2 hours drive. We understand Siti airport is opening its doors to charter flights in 2012 which would bring the travel time down to 30/40 mins. A car is required.

Booking notes
For special 2013 rates and smaller sized groups contact Richard and Miriam asap. Payment accepted by bank transfer in £ or €'s. 10% discount for second week. A deposit of 30% is payable at the time of booking (non refundable). The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival at the property. A security deposit is payable of 50 euros per head payable on arrival in cash. This will be returned to you prior to your departure less any charges for accidental damage.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We took a trip to Makrygialos to look for a plot of land, fell in love with the place and had a fantastic villa built in 2010. We have now been to Makrygialos 8 times and it just gets better. We also find tavernas we haven't tried before and this Summer went out on a fishing boat and caught a 10kilo tuna which tasted fabulous on the BBQ back at the villa.
Unique benefits of the property
When you are at the villa you can relax in the sun or the shade, take a dip in the pool, walk to the beach or explore the countryside. The evening is best enjoyed with a glass of champagne watching the sun setting behind the mountains behind the villa. At night either get the BBQ going or go down to town and enjoy a night on the promenade in one of the great tavernas. Late at night back at the villa go on the roof terrace and gaze up to the sky looking for shooting stars.
