This traditional style stone villa is located on the western side of the north peninsula: it has unmatched views and unrivalled tranquillity. Set in its own grounds amid the old almond, fig and Cypress trees, not forgetting the 700 year old olive tree, the villa is built in the Venetian fashion from local stone and has a large terrace and pool, with many scented flowers in the garden. The villa comprises well-equipped, high quality spacious living and dining accommodation with 3 generous bedrooms (2 twins and 1 en-suite double). Five minutes drive and you’re in Manganos, where you can shop for daily necessities; 10 minutes drive brings you to the busy yachting port of Fiskardo with its shops, tavernas and visiting celebs. The ground floor and the private pool/patio are available for guests: the upper floor is unoccupied when we let the villa.

Notes on accommodation
Thick stone walls and elevated position keep the villa cool in summer. However, for the hottest days there are ceiling fans throughout and air conditioning in all three bedrooms. For the cooler evenings in spring or autumn, electric heaters are available. Welcome hamper on arrival. Larger groups can be catered for by arrangement.

Outside
The villa is set in a third of an acre of private garden with mature trees, flowers and the magnificent 700 year old olive tree. Large upper terrace with 8m x 3.5 metre private pool with magnificent views over western Kefalonia, Assos and the sea. Plenty of comfortable loungers and parasols.
Lower patio/garden offers secluded shady areas – again with great views.

Coast/Beach
15 mins walk (under 5 mins drive) to the small Alaties cove or 30 mins walk (5 mins drive) to Agia Jerusalim beach. Both have tavernas.

Travel
Kefallinia Airport is just over an hour’s drive away. The port of Sami with ferry links to the mainland is 40 mins drive. Car hire is essential – we can arrange for a hire car to be collected at the airport if required.

Distances
The village of Manganos with tavernas, supermarket and greengrocers is 5 mins away by car. The resort of Fiskardo with its boutiques, restaurants, bank, cashpoints, supermarkets, boat hire and post office is a 10 mins drive. There is a medical centre at Vasilikades 15 mins drive away. Argostoli, the island’s capital, with its busy seafront market, shops and museums is 1 hour’s drive.

Further details
The Olive Tree is peaceful and safe for children to play with no traffic passing by and no noisy neighbours to spoil the magnificent setting. For the youngest guests there are toys, a high chair, cot/playpen and a baby buggy.

Booking notes
A 25% deposit is to be paid at time of booking, non refundable if cancellation is made more than 8 weeks before arrival date. Balance is to be paid 6 weeks before arrival.
