This wonderful traditional house is situated in a quiet village street surrounded by other traditional houses too. Numerous foreigners own the surrounding houses and enjoy their summers here. As you step down into the pebbled courtyard there is a relaxed seating corner and a dining area and flowers all around. The bathroom is outside in the courtyard. As you enter the house into the kitchen, you will find high ceilings and a fully equipped space to be totally self contained during your stay. To the left is the private double bedroom, and to the right you enter into the wonderfully dramatic main room with high stone arch, dining corner, living corner and walk in wardrobe, office corner and 2 high double bed platforms. You can also access the main room from the courtyard so in the summer with both courtyard doors open there is a lovely circular feel to the house. This is really an indoor outdoor house in the summer and you will be surprised at the peace and quiet in the village.

Timings of arrival and departure will depend entirely on whether there are guests leaving or arriving the same day. Where there is no other guests occupying you will be free to arrive early and depart late as you like

Accessibility
The house is not suitable for people with mobility issues due to the 3 steps down into the property.
Outside
The pretty courtyard is a wonderful space to spend evenings relaxing and gazing a the stars. There are 2 seating areas one for relaxing and one for eating outside.
Coast/Beach
There are 4 beaches within 5 mins drive of the beach, most of which are sandy and wonderful for swimming. They are small or medium sized bays, and Kalithea Spa just a few minutes further towards Faliraki also has 4 wonderful rocky small bays with great tavernas on them to choose from. The island of Rhodes is blessed with one fabulous beach after the other, some busy others wild and empty, you will find it hard to choose your favourite.
Golf
An 18 hole golf course can be found 20 minutes drive away at Afandou.
Special interest holidays
Private or group yoga classes can take place in either of the houses, or you are welcome to join our regular group classes, just see the Website below for classes and special events.
Travel
Rhodes Diagoras International airport is approx 20 km from Koskinou which takes about 20 minutes. Main harbour/port is in Rhodes town 7 km away, 10 mins by car. Car hire is recommended for these houses to access all the local beaches and places of interest, although there is a regular bus service which heads to Rhodes town every hour from the village along the coast line.
Distances
Koskinou village has 2 parts: the old village, and around it the new area. The house is set in the Old part of the village a few minutes walk from from the central square. From Koskinou it is about 40 minutes driving from Lindos, 90 minutes driving from Prasonisi surfers paradise, and 10 minutes driving to Rhodes town.
Further details
The village has a good selection of little shops for food including a new medium size supermarket. The large supermarkets in the area are no more than 5 minutes away. Koskinou has a lovely taverna culture during the summer months with pretty places to sit and eat at outside in the narrow streets. The big Paradise hotel down at the beach close by have great tennis, spa and water sport facilities which you are welcome to use. Rhodes Old town is an amazing array of tiny streets and shops to explore along with all the historic sites, and it has a wonderful buzzing nightlife scene for relaxed eating and late summer nights of fun.

To confirm a booking a non refundable deposit of 30% is required and can be paid by bank transfer in euro or sterling. The balance must be paid 6 weeks prior to arrival by the same method. Sheets, bath and hand towels are provided. Please bring your own towels for the beach. Additional cleaning can be arranged at 30€ per time including sheet and towel changes.

About the owner
I am Dimitris the owner of this great traditional house which I bought in 2007, and I am a local Rhodian. My shop Oistros which you can see on the photo is my Handcrafted metal work business and you can visit me there morning or night to say Hi and see what I do. This is my first summer renting my house, and I live in the house myself during the winter months. Friends of ours in the village also rent their houses here, and people have been most enthusiastic about their experience in the village. It is so easy and charming to be in the old streets without being in a touristy place. Koskinou is the village where I choose to live as it has that lovely old street feel to it too and I love that, we trust you will enjoy it too.

Dimitri bought this house as it was in such a lovely part of the village and because it is close to town where he has a Handcrafted Metal work shop 'Oistros' which is always worth a visit.
