The cottage has captivating views of Skiathos, Evia and the Greek mainland. Behind are unique pine covered Skopelean hills. The west facing verandahs and shaded patio form the focal point of the house offering breathtaking views including unforgettable sunsets. The house has been superbly converted from a 100 yr old, stone built farm house with every effort made to maintain the character of a typical island home. Downstairs there is a double bed and adjoining bathroom with toilet, handbasin and large shower area. Upstairs, the kitchen/living room opens onto a west facing verandah and tree shaded patio. The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker/oven, microwave and fridge, sink set in teak wood work surfaces. There is a music system and plenty of books and discs (an automatic washing machine is situated in an alcove outside).

Notes on prices
Should Greece revert to the Drachma, we will do everything possible to pass on any financial benefits on to our customers.
We prefer Friday as most flights arrive on that day. We can consider other arrangements.
|Bedrooms:||The bedroom is on the lower floor and opens onto a west facing patio. There is a double bed and plenty of storage space.|
|Bathrooms:||The adjoining bathroom is equipped to a high standard with toilet, handbasin and large shower area.|
|Kitchen:||The kitchen/living room is on the upper floor and opens onto a verandah and patio. There is a gas cooker/oven, a microwave and sink set into teak work surfaces.|
|Living Rooms:||The living room/ kitchen has comfortable seating, a music system and plenty of books and discs. From the verandah, where there are chairs and tables, the views are staggering.|
|The house will be fully prepared for your arrival. Fresh towels and linen will be provided every 7 days.To reduce your baggage weight, we provide large beach towels. A welcome pack can be provided at cost, just let us know your requirements.|

Unfortunately the house is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Our home sits on a 6000sqm property with fruit and pine trees and is very private. You will experience an unique opportunity to look down on buzzard and watch the acrobatic displays of Eleonora's falcons catching flies, as they hunt over the slopes below the house. There is no swimming pool. The island has secluded beaches and the clearest sea water imaginable.
Situated on the quieter end of the island there are many peaceful beaches accessible by car within 15 to 20 mins. There are also some beaches with taverns, beds and umbrellas (busy during the first 2 weeks of August). We can also direct you to some secret little coves (shussh). Boat rental is available on the island. We can help to make arrangements.
How to get there
The nearest airport is on Skiathos. There are charter flights to Skiathos from most major European airports and a few to Volos(on the mainland)-try Ryanair. There are also schedule and charter flights to Athens with connections to Skiathos. There are taxi and bus services available on the island. The rental of a small car is necessary, we can help make arrangements. You will be met at your port of arrival and guided to the cottage.
Skiathos can be reached by hydrofoil from Loutraki in 15 min. Alonissos in 40 mins or Volos, on the mainland, in 2 hrs. There are also ferryboat services- journeys take a bit longer.
Eating and Entertainment: By car, the house is 10-20 mins from Glossa, Loutraki and Elios, where there are a variety of cafes, restaurants, taverns, small supermarkets and bakeries. There is a bank and internet cafe in Glossa and an ATM in Elios. Skopelos town is 45 mins away where you will find more up-market facilities and night life.

We require a 25% deposit to confirm your booking with the balance payable atleast 30 days before your arrival. All payments can be made to our UK bank account, details on request. Special payment arrangements will be considered in the event of late booking, contact the owner.

" We made our holiday last year ( first 12 days). At the beginning Margarita and I knew nothing about Skopelos or the cottage.... once we tell you that we want to go back again this year, and why, now you will discover:
We travelled from Udine by car via Slovenia, Croatia,Serbia, Macedonia to Thessaloniki and took a car ferry to Skopelos ( 5 hrs). On arrival we had an appointment to meet the owner- Shaun- Irish gentleman in the town of Glossa.
Departing from Glossa after 5 mins on a dirty road and steep uphill, we arrived at the door of the cottage to be filled by wonder .Its a real cottage perfect for 2 people with a view that takes your breath away. Sit on the patio and terrace and just marvel at the view and peace.
To uncover all the hidden corners of the island needs 2 wks but really worth it.
Do not make if you love the smell of tanning oil and beaches crowded with the bar up to the sea.

About the owner
The Irish owners,Sue and Shaun,first visited Skopelos over 30 yrs ago and finally bought their first house a few years later. Their current home was bought 7 years ago and after renovation,became their permanent residence on the island
