Further details
Rhodes lies approx 11 miles (18km) to the west of the Turkish shores, between the Greek mainland and the island of Cyprus. Rhodes is shaped like a spearhead, 79.7km long and 38km wide with a total area of approximately 1,398sq.km (540 sq.miles.) with a coastline of approximately 220km. Plenty to explore if you wish. The city of Rhodes is located at the far northern end of the island, including the site of the ancient and modern commercial harbour. In terms of flora and fauna, Rhodes is closer to Asia Minor than to the rest of Greece.
The interior of the country is mountainous, sparsely inhabited with the occasional, unspoilt villages and covered with forests of pine and cypress.
The Aegean Sea and Mediterranean Sea provide breathtaking coastline.
Known as "The Sunshine Island" Rhodes boasts and basks in more than 300 days of sunshine every year.
We are superbly positioned within Rhodes Old Town, one of the key attractions of Rhodes. World famous and packed with history, tradition, charm, fine dining and an array of activities that cater for all tastes.
Other highlights we can suggest are Monolithos Castle, perched on a rock 787 feet high and dating from before 1480,you will enjoy the most amazing views.
The village of Siana stands on the south side of the 823m high Mount Akramytis and is famous for exquisite honey and the impressive church of Agios. Hunt down the quaint waterside taverna when you drive down the glorious Glyfada Bay. You could choose a winery, olive grove, a sandy or a pebble beach, breathtaking archaeological sites, a quiet life or a vibrant nightlife. Rhodes is the perfect place to find absolute balance.
A friendly and efficient service for "No.47" is promised from your first enquiry onwards.

Guest comments
"This was our first visit to Rhodes, but it won’t be our last and it will always be the Old Town. We arrived to find the apartment glowing in candle light, and looking even better than the photos on the website. The space has obviously been lovingly restored with great flair and attention to detail.
Our visit was out of season, but there was plenty to see and do. Just strolling the narrow cobbled streets was a joy in itself. Everything was within an easy walk, even the new Town with its more sophisticated local atmosphere, where we found a different choice of restaurant, followed by a pleasant stroll back at night.
The apartment does not have its own outdoor space, but the folding doors open onto a small square giving you a little terrace where we enjoyed our coffee in the sunshine. Altogether a lovely experience, we'll be back!"

Owner profile
About the owner
I retired to Rhodes four years ago and fell for the Greek island way of life. I decided to restore a property in 2010 and now I love seeing others come and experience the magic.
Year purchased: 2010
Why the owner chose a home in this location
The Old Town is my favourite part of Rhodes and it is very unusual to be able to live and stay in such a historic site. It is the only inhabited city like it in the world and No47 is right in the heart of the Old Town. When I found it the building was an empty shell but I could see it would make a perfect place to stay - large and full of light; great location on a peaceful residential square and yet very close to lovely tavernas and amenities and the lively Socrates street; not far from my favourite city Gate, that looks out across the sea to Turkey. I began renovations early in 2011, creating the kind of place I would want to stay myself.
Unique benefits of the property
It is the only place like it in Rhodes Old Town. Guests first impressions are always of the amount of space - it is 600 square feet with high ceilings, making it feel a very luxurious space. Most dwellings in the Old Town are small and can be dark, this is unique in its sheer space and light. It is very convenient - nearby amenities and heritage sites - but you must be happy to walk on cobbles to stay in the Old Town! The building is full of charm - there is a cave at the rear that I have lit behind glass so you can see the Byzantine foundations.
