This house is set on the hillside overlooking the sea and valley below. Its retains its original Venetian architecture externally, with a modern country interior, marrying the past with the present in this beautiful area of Cephalonia. Although the decor of Salamandra is very attractive, it is the courtyard, Mediterranean gardens and pool that are the highlight. There is a stone hideaway, overlooking the pool, in which to relax and enjoy the summer in the evenings.

The outside area is decorated with spacious Mediterranean gardens and secured parking. The veranda and pool is completely visible from inside the villa and makes it ideal for children.There is a stone gazebo with much comfort and shade in which to relax and is overlooking the pool with spectacular views. The property is entirely surrounded by a traditional stone wall and insures secure boundaries for children. Dining and outdoor seating is provided for 6 guests. There is a BBQ for your use.

St. Jerusalim beach, 1 km-3 min drive, Alaties beach and taverna, 1.9 km- 5 min drive, Assos, 8 km-20 min drive, Myrtos 30 km 25 min drive, Emplissi beach 6 km-15 min drive.
Special interest holidays
Close to the villa (15 min walk) is St. Jerusalim beach, an organized beach with umbrellas, sun loungers, kayaking, and underwater video cameras for hire.Here you will also find a traditional Greek taverna with fresh fish, daily fresh bread, homemade marmalade, and traditional Cephalonian cuisine. Further from the villa, 30 km, is the world famous Myrtos beach, also and organized beach.
Travel
Argostoli airport is 70 km away and a 1 hour, 30 min drive. Here there is car hire available or a taxi can be arranged to pick you up and transfer you to the villa.There is car hire also available from Fiscardo.

There are two tavernas very close to the villa. Mini markets/fruit markets are 2km away in Magganos. The cosmopolitan Fiscardo is km away with shops/supermarkets, bars, ATM machines, souvenirs etc.

14th - 21st June 08: Overwhelmed from day one by the beauty and sheer tranquility of the location. The silence is fantastic. Just natural sounds that are only disturbed very occasionally, by human intrusion. Idyllic!!Must agree Taverna Odysseus being a great place to eat (and swim). The walk being 10-15 takes a great deal of ouzo to get back up. We agree with the previous visitors - the north of the island is the best. Well worth exploring, but would recommend leaving some time to chill out and enjoy the quiet of villa and surrounding area. Maggi and Dominique
12th September 2010: You really can't beat walking out for dinner. It's 15 - 20 mins to the taverna at Jerusalim beach and 25 mins to the taverna at Alaties beach. We ate very well at both. Our thanks to Tassos and Shari for creating a superb hideaway and for their suggestions which enhanced our Cephalonian experience. We found a map with footpaths marked. Would we come again?
