Villa Roumeli Rose in the Cretan village of Roumeli is tucked away in a quiet corner. Just down the road is the town of Perama where there is a good variety of supermarkets, bakeries, fishmongers and butchers. To the north is the seaside resort of Panormo which is built around the old fishing harbour. Here are 3 beaches and many tavernas, bars and restaurants. In the evening the village centre is closed to traffic and the tables and chairs come out to let you eat in the village’s narrow lanes. Or you can sit in a taverna near the harbour and watch the sunset. Herkalion is, by car 50 minutes away offering the large town shops, museums and Knosses. The smaller town of Rethymno is 25 minutes drive where there is a huge variety of eating places, shops plus the old Venetian town and harbour to just stroll around. The south of Crete offers some of the best beaches in the world and it is only 70 minutes drive to the south.

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with queen size double bed and a separate wc /shower room, Bedroom 2 had two singled beds position next to each other. Bedroom 3 as two single beds. |
| Bathrooms: | The master bedroom en-suite shower room with wc and sink. There is a separate bathroom with a good size bath with shower over, wc and sink. |
| Kitchen: | The well equipped kitchen is divided from the living/dining room by a breakfast bar. There is: cooker with separate ceramic hob, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, iron and ironing board. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room and dining area look out on to the pool and garden. There is a comfortable 3 seater couch and 2 armchairs. The LCD TV is fixed to the wall and there is a DVD player and Satellite TV. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and bedding are supplied and changed during the mid -cleaning after 7 days. Extra cleaning can be supplied for an extra fee. |

Notes on accommodation
There is air-con units in the living room and the main bedroom,. The outside staircase leads to the roof terrace. A baby bed (cot) and high chair can be arranged.
Accessibility
The site and villa are on the level so suitable for wheelchair access and the bathroom is large enough to put a wheelchair by the wc.
Outside
Villa Roumeli Rose is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with a large garden and off street parking area to the side of the house. The front door, outside dining area and swimming pool is tucked away behind the house adding privacy. From the pool (3.5 by 7m) you can see the sea which is only a 10 minutes drive away. The villa was built in an olive groove so there are olive trees all around the garden. At the side of the villa is a staircase leading to the roof terrace where you can sunbath or just relax. Over the front door there is a covered porch and a movable BBQ. 4 sunbeds are supplied plus dining table and chairs to seat 6. It is a gentle stroll into the village of Roumeli where there is a taverna, two cafes and a mini market.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beaches are in Panormo, a fishing village 10 minutes drive from the villa where there are 3 bays. The biggest bay, to the west of the village centre is very child friendly as the water stays shallow and has a charming taverna right on the beach. Bali, a 10 minutes drive along the national road and is a little livelier. Rethymno town beach is very organised and offers a choice of water sport. Along the north coast there are small coves and long sweeping bays just waiting for people.
Travel
Heraklion Airport is the biggest on Crete and the nearest to Roumeli - approximately one hour’s drive to the Villa – and more or less a straight line so easy to find. Chania airport is one hour and 20 minutes drive away. Ferries sail into Heraklion and Chania. I think a car is needed for this holiday.
Distances
The Villa Roumeli Rose is in Roumeli village, 10 minutes drive to Panorma and the sea, 8 minutes to Perama and the Grocery shops, 30 minutes to Rethymno with all the tourist shops, tavernas and bars plus the old town of Rethymno where you can just wander around.

About the owner
We live in the USA but fell in love with Crete many, many years ago. When a chance to buy a small part of the island came up we jumped at it. From our house you can see the mountains, that are normally covered in snow until late May. You can walk into the village or a few minutes drive take you to the sea. For us ts a perfect retreat from the madness of our hectic lives. I do hope you have a great vacation in our home.
