'Amigdalospito' (Almond House) has been restored keeping many original features such as the old wine press and threshing circle and comes highly recommended. Furnished with a combination of antique and modern fixtures and fittings and very well equipped to a high standard to provide luxury accommodation for up to 12 people. Set on the hillside in the old village of Vasilikades, a perfect retreat for a family or group holiday. Just a 3/10 min walk to 2 tavernas and a pizzeria, all with great home cooking and takeout service. There is a cafe bar, well stocked supermarket, cornershop selling local meat, a petrol station, chemist and Health Centre. 'Almond Tree house' is well situated, within 10 mins drive is the popular and colourful harbour of Fiscardo and 15 mins to the quiet and picturesque fishing village of Assos with its imposing Venetian fortress. The famous Myrtos beach is about 20 mins drive away and many other beaches can be reached in all directions within a 10/15 minute drive.

Notes on prices
Prices shown are for renting the whole place as private villa in Sterling for up to 10 people. For 10-12 add £100 per extra person. Small groups up to 6 people in low season deduct 10%.
We also offer rooms with en-suite shower-room on B&B basis in low/mid seasons (minimum stays B&B are 3 nights). The above prices are 55 Euros (low season)/65E (mid season)for a double room, 30E/35E for single use of a double room and 25E/30E for a single a night. The self catering cottage is 70E/80E a night.
Changeover day
The current changeover day is Sunday, however other days of the week, such as Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday would be considered. Check both availability calendars for either B&B or booking the house as private villa and then contact us.

| We are now offering rooms during our lower seasons on a bed and breakfast basis. We offer a fabulous buffet breakfast of juice, tea, filter coffee, choice of cereal, seasonal fruit, yoghurt, ham and cheese, fresh bread and homemade preserves. Breakfast can be taken outside on the terrace or inside in the dining area. Complimentary tea, specialist teas and instant coffee are available throughout the day on a help yourself basis, as guests are welcome to stay around the house, pool and gardens to relax and enjoy the facilities. We have a drinks chiller with cold drinks available on request. Also we have an extensive range of books in our house library. There is one single room and we also do a reduced price for single use of a double room. Please note: The cottage can only be booked separately during our Bed and Breakfast weeks when the house is run as a Guest House. Notes on accommodation
Due to the layout of the property the house lends itself to smaller groups of people as well as being comfortable enough for a couple of families. Many guests have said how great it is that each bedroom has its own ensuite shower room, which certainly helps if you are all trying to get ready to go out for an excursion together. The main house has central heating and a wood burning fireplace so is comfortable for holidays all year round. Thick stone walls and an elevated location keep the house warm in winter and cool in summer. No smoking inside the house due to wooden floors. When the main house is run as a B&B guest house in low and mid season the self-catering cottage is available to rent separately also.
Accessibility
The house was built on several levels making accessibility difficult with stone steps leading from entrance gateway and down between the cottage and main house, past the pool to the front door. The steps are however not very deep and are evenly spaced.
Outside
Due to the well designed layout of the buildings and terraces there are many places to sit peacefully in the shade of a tree or umbrella, small pockets of calm! Gardens of flowers, herbs and fruit trees surround the house. Large front terrace with wrought iron tables and chairs. The fabulous 35 sqm pool and large pool terrace have amazing views and loungers, deckchairs, tables and director style chairs. Set in walled and terraced gardens with Almond, Olive and Pines offering many secluded areas for reading and relaxing in the shade looking out over vineyards and fields to the picturesque village of Mesovounia, the distant mountains and the island of Ithaca. On the old threshing circle there are two comfortable sofas and a small table for sitting and chilling in the shade of the Umbrella Pine tree. Threshing circles were always placed in an elevated position to catch the breeze, this makes it the perfect spot to sit on a hot day, take in the views and immerse yourself in the place.
Coast/Beach
Beaches within 10-15 minutes drive are Agia Gerousalim, Alaties, Assos, Dafnoudi, Foki (south of Fiscardo), Emblissi (NE of Fiscardo). 20 minutes drive is the famous Myrtos beach which is especially stunning when viewed from the northern cliffs above.

We are keen walkers and do our own walking weeks during the season. If you would like to bring a group of your own to study a particular subject as we may be able to help facilitate your needs.
Travel
The airport is known as Kefalinia airport (EFL). It is just over 1 hours drive from Amigdalospito. The port of Sami is (30mins drive) and has ferries to Ithaca, Patras and Astakos. Fiscardo 10 mins drive and also has ferry links with Lefkas and Ithaca. Car hire is recommended but not essential. There is some lovely walking locally and taxis are relatively inexpensive, buses are infrequent.
Distances
Fiscardo is 8 kms, Assos 10kms, Agia Efimia is 21 kms, Sami 30 kms with the famous Drogarati Cave and Melisani Lake nearby. Argostol the capital, 46 kms with waterfont market, shops, tavernas and bars. The Archeological Museum and Korgialenio Historical and Folklore Museum are well worth a visit.
Further details
Fiscardo has shops, tavernas and supermarkets as well as a bank, cashpoints, post office and car hire. Antipata, the village just before Fiscardo now has a new post office, shop and two tavernas. Assos, Agia Efimia and Fiscardo both have small boat hire. There are diving schools in Fiscardo and Agia Efimia.
Booking notes
Please check the relevant availability calendar and note that the calendar of the house as private villa differs from the availability of rooms on a B&B basis. We ask for 20% deposit at time of booking. Deposit refunded in full only in certain circumstances and if 12 weeks prior to arrival date. Deposit may be transferred to another date within 12 months subject to availability. Balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival date.
The price of the house is for no more than 12 people.
