Pano Spiti is situated on a hillside just outside the village of Ferma in a rather quiet and romantic spot, with an exceptional panoramic view of the bay and the Libyan Sea making it perfect for your relaxing holiday. This cottage has been renovated in a traditional Cretan style covering an area of 70m2 plus the veranda and is surrounded by olive trees, as well as a garden filled with laurels, hibiscus, cacti, vines, pine trees, aloe vera, thyme and many more plants and herbs, making it perfect for a family of 4 plus a baby. The large terraces surrounding the house are partly covered by pergolas and you can enjoy a magnificent view of the sea or at night of the stars from the roof as well.

The veranda is partly shaded and offers a comfy seating area with a table which can be used as a dining table as well. The surrounding garden is full of different flowers and herbs. You can sunbathe and enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the bay and the Libyan Sea from the roof terrace. A parking is situated within the olive grove.
Coast/Beach
The beach is only a 10 min walk away. But there are more beaches to be dicovered by foot or by car or bus in this area. The local beaches are modest in size and quiet.
Special interest holidays
The South-East coast of Crete remains very wild and is one of Crete's least tourist populated areas even during the summer months. This makes the cottage the perfect location to start hiking or (mountain) bike tours from. In case our guests are interested in learning how to cook easy Cretan meals we could organize it - prices on request.
Travel
Heraklion International Airport: 1h 30min by car. It is recommended but not required to hire a car as the cottage and most destinations around can easily be reached by public buses.
Distances
The nearest village with its shops and tavernas is only a 10 min walk away. The town of Ierapetra is perfect for shopping, eating out and clubbing and is only a 15 min drive away.

About the owner
We are a mixed Greek/German couple and live not far away from the properties we rent out. We speak Greek, German, English, a bit of French and Danish. We like that people come from abroad to visit our beautiful island and in case they want it, we show or even accompany them to places that we think are worth to be visited and not crowded. As one of us is born here, there will be always something special that you wouldn't be able to explore on your own easily. We have quite a lot of guests who spend their holidays here for many years.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Tthis little cottage was carefully restored and renovated by trying to keep alive the native style and thus saving a piece of traditional Cretan architecture. Though the cottage is situated outside the village you can walk down for shopping or a swim. The house has a very good atmosphere and from the wide terrace you have a wonderful view over the Libyan Sea.
Unique benefits of the property
Winter - or a sort of working holidays are possible as the cottage has a little stove that gives you comfortable warm Winter evenings if wanted. The area is quiet and gives you a good rest. In winter we offer the cottage for a special price for longer terms.
