Top house is located high in the village of Glossa. A very peaceful area with stunning views over the village, down the island and out over the Aegean to Skiathos and the Greek mainland. The house comprises of a small outside terrace, two sleeping areas, bathroom, open plan kitchen and dining area and balcony. Glossa is surrounded by cool shaded olive groves leading into Pine forests, perfect for walking and cycling, we also have two sea kayaks which can be rented on a daily basis for those wishing to explore the islands coast line or find that deserted beach. The center of the village is only a few minutes walk where you will find tavernas, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and supermarkets. The nearest beach is at Loutraki, about 30 min walk or 5 mins by taxi. A regular bus service runs between Loutraki and Skopelos town, calling at all the main beaches and villages.

Changeover day
Main change over day is Friday but if this is inconvenient please contact us. Arrival time is not earlier than 16:00. Departure is no later than 10:00. We can be flexible with all these, just get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Living Rooms: 1st floor with sofa bed, table and chairs, CD player and access onto the balcony.

Accessibility
Glossa is built on a hillside and has many steps which make it unsuitable for people with mobility problems. Top house is also built over 3 floors with two staircases.

Outside
On the ground floor there is a small terrace area with table and chairs. The balcony is located on the first floor.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is in the village of Loutraki which is about 30 mins walk. There is an excellent bus service covering the length of the island, taking in all the main beaches and other villages. There is a stop in Glossa about a 10 min walk from Top house.

Special interest holidays
We run guided sea kayaking tours around Skopelos. This is an ideal way to explore the coast line and see the marine life that surrounds this beautiful island. No previous kayaking experience is necessary as we are trained coaches and provide all the equipment necessary.
The tours visit different areas of the island each day and include time for relaxing on deserted beaches, snorkeling and lunch before returning back to Glossa.

Travel
The nearest airport is located on the neighboring island of Skiathos, about 20-30 min boat ride away. Taxi from Skiathos airport to the ferry port is about 10 min and will cost approx 7-10 euro.
Car hire is recommended for getting around Skopelos for sight seeing, however the public bus and taxi service provide good access to many beaches and places of interest. Cost of car hire varies between 25-55 euros per day depending on type of vehicle and holiday season.

Distances
Glossa village has many supermarkets, bakeries, resturants and tavernas, all within a few mins walk. Loutraki 5min drive, small port with many traditional fishing boats, a nice sand and shale beach and sea front tavernas. Agios Yannis (St John) 10min drive, the small chapel on the rock used in the film of Mama Mia. Kastani beach 15min drive, sandy beach used in the film of Mama Mia. Panormos bay 20min drive, stunning pebble beach and tavernas, perfect for evening dinning alfresco on the beac

Further details
In Glossa you will find a selection of bakeries, Greek tavernas, european resurants, variety of supermarkets and hardware stores. A 24HR ATM cash machine, Doctors surgery and pharmacy can also be found on the main high street.
Klima is the second closest village, 10 min drive. Here you can also find tavernas and bakeries along with 24HR ATM cash machine but NO pharmacy or Doctors surgery.
Skopelos Town is 50 min drive, this is the islands capital and main ferry port for departues and arrivals from Skiathos and the Greek mainland. Endless supply of cafes, bars and tavernas, art and clothes shops for your tourist nic nacs. The island boast hundreds of monestaries some of which are still habited. Doctors, dentists, banks, police and other emergency services are all located in Skopelos Town.

A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance to be paid in full 10 weeks prior to your arrival. A reminder will be sent via email 12 weeks prior to your arrival date.
Bookings made within 10 weeks require payment in full to secure reservation.

About the owner
We are Yvonne and Neil, we moved to Glossa about 3 years ago to start a new life. Things are going well and the villagers here have been very welcoming. We will be on hand to welcome you and look after you during your stay. When we first arrived we spent the winter renovating our house, which was nothing more than four walls and a few Kastani beams where the floor had once been. A team of local builders put on a new roof and balcony, then with plenty of advice from the locals, blood, sweat and tears! we proceeded to do the rest of the work. Why the owner chose a home in this location
We wanted to be part of this beautiful village and experience the traditional way of life that is becoming more difficult to find in Greece these days. The house is in a peaceful area and has wonderful views but is still part of the village with villagers and donkeys passing while going about their business.

Unique benefits of the property
Our house is only a few minutes walk from the supermarkets and tavernas, also behind the house are olive groves and paths heading into the pine forest, mountains and beaches. This a great location for those looking to explore this beautiful island, wander through the village streets, head off to one of the deserted beaches or simply sit on the balcony soaking up the views with your favorite book!
