This apartment is ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday where you get the true feeling of Crete. Although it is situated on the outskirts of a small Creten village it is only 10 minutes walk to the larger village of Pigi which has grocers, butchers, bakers, tavernas, there is also a regular bus service to the town of Rethymno. A car is not essential for this holiday but if you want to explore the island a car is needed. A taxi can be organised by the owner to collect you from the airport. As a ground floor apartment the property is ideal for any one with mobility problems. The Greek/English speaking owners are near by and willing to help with information and advice. As Rethymno is situated an hour from Hania, Heraklion and the south coast touring around the island is made easy.
The Venetian Old Town of Rethymno is 7km away where you will find numerous shops, restaurants, tavernas, bars and places of historical interest. The famous monastery of Arcardi is a short drive into the mountains.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with extra wide twin beds, ample wardrobe space and balcony doors that open onto the south facing balcony and leads to the secluded sunbathing area.
A third put you up bed, which is very comfortable is available, as is a cot (baby bed).
Bathrooms: The large bathroom has a full size bath, shower, wc and hand basin. As normal in Greece the washing machine is in the bathroom.
Kitchen: The fully equipped kitchen has: electric cooker, ceramic hob, extractor fan, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, iron, kettle, coffee machine, and all the pots and pans etc.
Living Rooms: Living room has:Two double patio doors leading onto the 40m2 covered terrace, comfortable sofas, coffee table, satellite TV, DVD and video, CD player, this is also where the put you up bed is housed.
Other: There are two double balcony doors leading to a 40 sqm terrace surrounded by trees and flowers with a view of the 11th century Byzantine church of St Dimitrios, perfect for a barbecue or romantic meals. There is also a TV point.

Towels and linen are included, the property will be cleaned every seven days at which time towels and linen will be changed.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is centrally heated. Because it is a new build and is well insulated air-con is not necessary. As there is no passing traffic it very safe for children to play in the olive grove/garden.We also provide a beach kit, comprising of large cool box, beach towels and umbrella. Guests are also welcome to enjoy fresh vegetables,fruit and salad grown in our garden.

Accessibility
As it is a ground floor apartment with only one step to contend with and a ramp available is it suitable for people with mobility problems. The bathroom is large enough to take a wheelchair.

Outside
The outdoor dining room is on the front covered 40sq.m terrace. There is a dining table with 6 chairs, coffee table and lounge chairs and barbecue. The back balcony also with breakfast table and chairs leads up to the private sunbathing patio with sunbeds and umbrella facing south with a view of the mountains. The whole property is completely surrounded by trees shrubs and flowers giving complete privacy. it has a large private drive and car parking for up to 6 cars.

Coast/Beach
10 minutes drive to the nearest beach or 20 minutes to the Rethymno organised beach with an assortment of water sports.

Golf
One hours drive.

Bird watching, wild flowers, walking and cycling.

Travel
One hours drive to Heraklion airport or one hours drive to Chania airport. Car hire is not essential - buses or taxis are available. Please ask us to organise the airport taxi for you or help you with car hire.

Distances
10 minute walk to the nearest village, tavernas, doctors and pharmacy etc. 20 minutes drive to Rethymno. The nearest ATM is 15 minutes drive. A 10 minute drive will take you to the main coast road where there are numerous bars, tavernas and discos also organised water sports. The property is ideally situated for driving in to the mountains to explore the real Crete.

About the owner
We moved to Crete 20 years ago, to bring up our son and make a good life for ourselves. We love the way of life here, the family values, the outdoor life, the beaches just down the road. When we were looking for a plot of land to build on, we searched the eastern side of Rethymno for our ideal plot and when we found the plot behind the Byzantine church we both felt we had found our home. We live on the first floor, above the apartment so you know how much we love this plot, this village, this area and we would like to introduce holiday makers to this beautiful island.
