The villa's situation is totally private and secluded, without being isolated and Plani beach, directly below the villa is only a five minute walk away, close enough for you to hear the sound of the sea on the shore whilst sitting on the terrace. There is plenty of space in the villa, with an enormous open plan kitchen/dining/living room, opening on to the terrace and two bedrooms and well fitted bathroom on the same level. Underneath the main part of the house is a large self contained studio (60 sq.m) equipped to the same standard. The village of Lakka, with shops, cafes, bars and plenty of tavernas is about a six minute walk away. The villa is set in 8000sqm of gardens, with olive, cypress and pine trees. Outside
The villa is reached by a private driveway with large lockable wrought iron gates gates. Set in 8000sqm of totally private gardens and lots of venues to sit/sunbathe and watch the yachts go by at the bottom of the garden. Most evenings bring a spectacular sunset to the villa, which is a rare event on most parts of the island, as most other places lose the sun in the early evening.
Coast/Beach
There are numerous beaches on Paxos, Plani beach is 300m from the villa by foot, and seldom has many people on it. Another beach for very safe swimming is 500 mtrs on foot, at the beautiful horse shoe bay of Lakka. Here sunbeds, water sports are available for hire.
Special interest holidays
Lakka is ideal for people who enjoy some activity while on holiday, whether it is walking, messing about in boats, or swimming. It has a water sports centre as described above and the possibilities for walking are excellent. Staying in a quiet villa outside the village, amongst the peaceful olive groves and walking down to the lively harbour front for lunch or an evening meal, provides the contrast that many people seek. Evenings in Lakka are quite lively, with music bars which in the high season, stay open until the early hours.
Travel
Corfu is the nearest airport. From here, a five minute taxi to the port, and a 50 min fast ferry to Paxos. If you are not carrying too much luggage, there is also a sea plane, which takes 15 mins. For those who wish to travel before May and after October, either flights to Athens-Corfu, or ryanair to Bari, Brindisi, Venice or Ancona and then ferries to Corfu. Lakka Amenities (5 min's walk). Butcher, bakery, grocery, minimarkets. One ATM. Internet Cafe Akis Bar. Water sports centre, including scuba diving. Boat hire. Bus service 4 times a day between Gaios, Loggos and Lakka.
Further details
Fabulous tavernas are to be found in Lakka, with most other things you could possibly want. The Akis bar, which is also an internet cafe (5 mins walk) has gorgeous views of the horseshoe bay of Lakka (see photo page two).
