Grazalema self-catering accommodation is set in and around a beautiful whitewashed village in the mountains, which form their own natural park – the Sierra de Grazalema. Its an absolutely stunning location, and just perfect for getting out and about – from the front door of your villa in Grazalema you could head off on a scenic walk or bike ride, across rugged hills and past olive groves. There are a number of fascinating sights to take in locally. The town hall is a Romanesque building, while perched on the hillside overlooking the town is the Ermita del Santo, an old hermitage that now lies in partial ruin. You could make the short walk up to here from a Grazalema apartment to explore the building and take in the view.
About 30 kilometres from Grazalema self-catering holiday accommodation is the town of Ronda, which offers a wealth of historical interest. It’s also an incredibly scenic place, sitting atop a cliff, with spectacular views of the countryside. If you come here from a Grazalema villa you should be sure to see the town’s bridges – the iconic New Bridge, Old Bridge and Roman Bridge. The New Bridge spans a drop of more than 100 metres. Ubrique is about 20 minutes by car from Grazalema holiday apartments, and is another classic whitewashed village, tucked into the mountainous landscape. Here you’ll be able to find out about the local leather industry, which had existed here for centuries, but really began to flourish in the mid-20th Century.
