Situated in Bernkastel-Kues, the picturesque town centre is just a short stroll away, along the meandering river Mosel, where you can enjoy a game of mini golf, or a day at the open air swimming pool. Maybe you would like a boat trip on the Mosel. When evening falls there are numerous offerings of wine tasting for the connoisseur or just the wine enthusiast.

Notes on accommodation
The heating always available. The wood-burner is also to be used for the romantic evening when it’s not that warm outside! There is constant hot water. The laundry room is where the washing machine, tumbler, iron and ironing board are stored. A second wc and sink in the laundry room. For guests with small children there is a highchair, toy's a cot and bedding.
Accessibility
The Golden Grape has not been adapted for wheelchairs users although it has had plenty of guests with push chairs. The carport is on the doorsteep. We are a family and accept families with young and young at heart. My own Father(who has mobility problems) and Mother who are over 80 years young, visits The Golden Grape twice a year.
Outside
There are lots of play parks and adventure parks, for all to enjoy, our favourite is the Bernkastel-kues outdoor swimming pool or indoor pool, with badminton courts, skate park or the green to play ball games on.
At the Golden Grape there is place to sit and have a barbecue, or to have a drink in friendly company,
A drive for two car's or eight Motorbikes in the front of the house.
Coast/Beach
Along the Mosel near the harbour with grass area, where you can sit under wall nut trees and watch the water activity for hours or join in.
Golf
The mini golf, is an ideal pastime for the whole family, only 2 mins walk away. only 1 mile away there is a sport centre for all.
Golf course, is on the kueser Plateau along with more sports.
Skiing
Erbeskopf, near Morbach is our nearst ski resort, for cross country sking, downhill, snowboarding and sledging for the children. To get there a car is needed but only 30 mins away.
Special interest holidays
Bike ride's along the Mosel river, from Trier, Daun There are special buses that transport your bike too! you book your wished time to travel online be at the bus stop with your booking no. and ride back.
The bike way's are great to take a look around and mostly flat nearby for beginer's there are lots of hire places but bring your own bikes too there is enough room for storing them.For fourmula 1 fan's the Spa Belgien is just 1 hour drive away this year 28/08/11 the Nurburg ring 24/07/11 is also 1 hour drive away.
The clean air that is in this area in world known as there is no industry only the growing of grapes! The guest friendly town is known also for their delicous food & wine, river activities, and the 34th Advent and Christmas Market. The middle-aged houses that attract and let people admire their beauty are some times hard to belive how they still stand after 600 years! The natural beauty of the water fall on the way to the castle is also incredible!
Travel
From Hahn/Frankfurt Airport to Bernkastel is only 25min's by car.
From Calis Dock to Bernkastel is a good 4 and a half hours by car.
From Amsterdam to Bernkastel is a good 5 hour's by car.
Distances
Bernkastel-kues is less than a mile. The picturesque town centre is full of half timbered houses that are so romantic. The shops are so different too - individual! The pubs are friendly and this area is renowned for the restaurants, good food, when you steep into bernkastel you steep into another past. Explore the every last small street, the water fall, the castle and the market place.

Shops Edeka, Aldi, Lidl, and Toom are all food shops, again only a short distance and on foot or by car you won’t be able to miss them. Restaurants there are an abundance to choose from. The list of entertainment is long, for Bernkastel-kues we have information flyers to help you plan your stay. Near Luxembourger:- about 45 mins by car. Trier:- 30 mins drive. Paris:- 5 hours drive. 19 November - 18 December 2011 the medieval middle mosel Christmas market, in Bernkastel.

I am English, with a Welsh accent, I was brought up in Wales from the age of five, when I was 28 years old I exchanged the mountains of Wales for the mountain vineyards of Germany where our holiday home is, I love being in a clean environment where there is no industry, people are friendly and the weather is warm. I speak German and I give tour's of Bernkastel.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought this house as its location was perfect for great walks along the Mosel river and in walking distance from shops, schools, Hospital you name it this little town of Bernkastel-Kues has it. The house has years of history going back over 400 years! It has a Happy atmosphere.
Unique benefits of the property
The house is spacious. It has every thing you need for a family holiday or Group. The walls are 90 centimeters thick which helps to keep cool on the hot summer days that can get up to 30+ the heating is on during the winter up untill April or when the weather is hot! constant hot water all year round. There is something to do all year round and always a fest! On weekends! Christmas Markets too!
