Carcassonne Golf Club (22km, 25 mins) well deserves its reputation as a course of international standard. It enjoys beautiful natural surroundings, with the Medieval City in the background.
The 18 hole course runs along the side of a hill and continues onto a plane among typically Mediterranean vegetation This highly elegant site boasts natural hills, perfect fairways, and fast greens that any keen golfer will have to devote all his concentration to.

How to get there
Within easy reach of four airports - Carcassonne 30 mins. Toulouse, Perpignan and Beziers all approx 1¼ hrs. 10 hrs by car (not including stops) from Calais. 1½ hrs from Spanish border. Car essential if visitors wish to travel outside the village.

Lagrasse 12km. Le Cite (oldest medieval castle in Europe) at Carcassonne 21km. Trebes on Canale du Midi 16km. Narbonne 50 km. Narbonne-plage (on mediterranean with long expanse of beaches) 60kms.

Further Details
Montlaur, although a small village of less than 600 residents, is also a thriving little centre for the six villages in the Val D'Agne and has a post office, traditional baker's, pharmacy, small supermarket, hairdressers and a cafe plus five different wine producers providing wine tasting in the village.

There are numerous fetes and village festivals during the summer where you can participate in village meals and dance to live muisc well into the night. Petanque is the favourite sport.

The nearest restaurants are in Servies-en-val (5km), Monze (8kms), and Camplong d'Aude (9kms) all of which are recommended and very reasonable. Numerous attractive restaurants in Lagrasse, Fabrezan, Trebes and of course Carcassonne

Lagrasse (12km) is part of the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France association (The most beautiful villages of France). The village is famed for its Abbey, medieval houses and streets, book and pottery fairs over the Summer months, and a lovely 12th century hump backed bridge. It is good place to explore at any time of the year and has a number of good restaurants.

Montlaur is the perfect location to explore the Cathar castles and explore this beautiful region rich in history.

A deposit of 25% is required to secure a booking with balance on arrival in cash or paid in advance by bank transfer (to English or French account).
Minimum stay is two nights from June to August.
