Owner profile

Arromanche 6th June 2010 Edwin Jeffery my Father

About the owner
As with most people who holiday in France, we loved the empty straight roads, making travelling a pleasure. We loved the countryside, which is very similar to Devon and Cornwall. The parks and gardens are so well kept. We also love the locally produced fresh vegetables, mostly home grown without the chemicals. If you look at the buildings, they are not polluted by endless traffic fumes making the stonework grey/black. There is no rush here for any reason, which "makes every day a holiday!", to quote what most locals say. We love the 2 hour lunches, usually 3/4 courses with wine included. The street market and the beaches are not overcrowded and everywhere there is space. The brocantes are fantastic places to buy old furniture and antiques. The only noisy time is Bastille Day.

Year purchased: 2009

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Please see details for Arromanche & Bessin Park homes as I have written about the lovely area and so very much to do that a week's holiday is never long enough most guests say! Which is fantastic and we already have repeat booking's for 2012. The months of september and october are perfect for a more leisurly holiday especially if there are just the two of you. The weather generally is very good up til December. And september is a very good time to buy wine! The early part of 2012 feb & march the weather seems to be good forecast .The park opens on 10th Feb. We offer discount holidays for these months based on 2 people .This is also a quiet time to enjoy the fishing lakes both on site and close by.Minimum stay 2 nights. The Brittany ferries 20 o/o off travel discount still applies .

Unique benefits of the property
Fishing lakes on site and within 15 mins drive .Perfect time for to enjoy the open space .The forests are beautiful with occasional deer sighting or wild boar. France is very al fresco picnic area's are everywhere .The year has started well weather wise and what better way to enjoy a peaceful walk in the forest . Or on a sandy beach Vierville sur Mer Omaha beach . Mont St Micheal is 50 km . The Park Domaine de la Litteau is between St. Lo & Bayeaux with its Tapestry and cobbled streets and wonderful cafe's with pavement seating.
