La Grand Cerf is a spacious family owned new apartment, comprising of 3 bedrooms, two double and one twin, with the added convenience of bunk beds and a pullout sofa bed. There are two bathrooms both with showers. Fully fitted kitchen with microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The living area and one of the double bedrooms open out onto a large balcony which overlooks the piste, at La Grand Terche.

Changeover day
Changeovers are flexible let us know which you would prefer. To allow for cleaning and change overs the apartment is available from 14.30 on the day of arrival, we like people to vacate by 10.30am on the day of departure.

In addition to the bedrooms and bunk beds there is an additional double bed/sofa bed, which can be used for guests, which is in the living area.

Outside
The property has a large balcony, with doors that open from the living area and from bedroom one. We have an electric barbecue which can be used on the balcony.
Coast/Beach
The lake at Montriond is approximately 5 km away and there is a plage in Thonon on the shore of lake Geneva which is very popular
Skiing
There is plenty of skiing right on your doorstep literally. The La Grand Terche ski lift is a mere 100 meters from the apartment block, La Grande Terche is about as distant from industrialized skiing as you can get. Whether you are expert skier or intermediate, the 7km long circuit from La Grande Terche through Bellevaux takes you from forest to hamlet, and is both exhilarating and extremely beautiful.
The Village is linked by free bus to Morzine/Les Gets and via car to the Ardent Gondala accessing the whole Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the best in the world!
However, car hire makes Avoriaz and the neighbouring Swiss resorts of the Portes Du Soleil a mere 10 minute drive via the Ardent lift. Driving into Morzine and Avoriaz, take 10 and 15 minutes respectively.
Special interest holidays
The Portes du Soleil area has 20 ski lifts open in the summer, leaving from the various resorts. These take out a lot of the effort of mountain-biking, giving you the time to admire the scenery and get your breath back: 380km of paths between France and Switzerland are accessible via the ski lifts.
Les Gets is 10kms away and sometimes plays host to the down hill mountain bike championships.
With its fresh air, warm sun, natural beauty and a multitude of sports and activities, the French Alps are perfect for everyone to enjoy a summer break whether your on your bike, walking or driving.
For those of you who want to enjoy some less energetic activities there are some beautiful traditional French and Swiss villages around Lac Laman (lake Geneva) with many local delights for you to sample, alternatively you could head into Geneva for some serious shopping.

Geneva Aiport is the nearest and is approximately 55 kilometeres away.
Distances
Morzine is the nearest town, 6km. The Swiss border town of Thonon, on the shores of lake Geneva is 25km, and Annecy is approximately 88km.
Further details
La Grande Terche is a small and increasingly popular holiday region. At an altitude of 1000m it sits overlooking the small town of St Jean d'Aulps which itself is about 5km west of Morzine / Avoriaz and 10km from Les Gets.
Neither La Grande Terche, nor the village of St Jean d'Aulps in the valley below, has any British "packaged" accommodation, a significant attraction for some. Instead, its surprisingly international clientele is dotted around in private chalets and apartments, and the resort is run by locals who are genuinely welcoming and friendly. Most of the apartment buildings are modern, but low-rise, and of traditional style. A number of genuine old Savoyard barns survive to add to the charm.
Apres-ski is relaxed and friendly with some excellent bars and restaurants reasonably priced. The village regularly puts on events, including a weekly torchlight descent by the ski instructors and special celebrations at Christmas, New Year and Easter.
The village is a small, friendly community with 4 bars, 4 restaurants, ski hire shops, supermarket, a ski school and a launderette. Fresh bread and croissants are supplied via a depot de pain in the supermarket.
Booking notes
A deposit of (25% of the total rent), will be taken at the time of booking and full payment is to be made 8 weeks before departure. Bookings less than 8 weeks before departure full payment must be made. A refundable deposit of £150 will be required with the balance, by separate cheque. This will be refunded in full providing that there is no damage to the property and it is to be left clean and tidy.
Refunds can only be made if the cancellation is made 8 weeks before departure.

Thank you for a lovely week in your apartment, it was absolutely gorgeous - We really enjoyed the skiing. The local ski school was great - The highlight for my son must have been your scrabble game! He loved playing scrabble desperate to beat his Dad every night. The kids also appreciated your vast DVD collection.

About the owner
I am Sophie, I am married to Andrew and we have two children Mollie 16 and Will 8 - we have a dachshund dog called Dexter. We live in beautiful York where Andrew has his own business. We are skiing and boarding addicts and love everything about the winter season in France, although summer in the alps is beautiful too, and we always take Dexter on his holidays too, as he has his own passport. La Grand Terche is a very friendly family orientated resort, predominantly French up until a few years ago, everyone knows one another and it feels like a very safe place to ski with children. We have made some great new friends in the short time we have owned the property, both business owners in the village and also fellow owners in our block.

Unique benefits of the property
La Grand Terche, is 10 minutes away from Morzine either by bus or car, once in Morzine the links are available to Avoriaz, Switzerland and Les Gets, La Grand Terche itself boasts some great skiing with a circuit called teh Roc d'enfer which takes you through the forest on a 12km red run. We are 55 kilometers away from Geneva, which is great for easy transfers and we have easy access to Chamonix, Annecy and the Mount Blanc tunnel through into Italy. This is a home from home to us, we feel and hope that others do to. We feel that after a hard days skiing, there is nothing better than pyjamas on and cosying up with a DVD and/or wine. Although if its atmosphere you crave the bars and restaurants in the village can supply this with traditional french flavour.
