La Garrigue is a single storey, detached property. Situated in the peaceful hilltop village of St Martin des Puits with its 9th century Romanesque Chapel overlooking the River Orbieu and Gorge. It is a 15 minute drive to the mediaeval town of Lagrasse with its shops, boulangerie restaurants and ATM. Extensive local walking from your front door or just a short drive away. The Mediterranean coast is under an hour away. We are 30 minutes south of Autoroute A61, under 1 hour from Carcassonne and Bezier Airports and 2 hours from Toulouse, Perpignan, Montpellier and Girona (Spain) Airports. We live in the village ourselves.

Changeover day
Changeover day is flexible.
Your holiday will begin at 5.00pm on the first day of your holiday and finish at 10.00am on the last.
We live in the village and will be there to greet you and return your damage deposit.

Notes on accommodation
Heating is provided throughout by wall mounted convector heaters. The house is double glazed and well insulated and is perfect for all year use. All the windows have shutters which help to keep La Garrigue comfortably cool during the heat of the summer. All heating costs are included.

Outside
La Garrigue has a fenced garden with plenty of garden furniture, umbrellas and bar-b-que. Perfect for those al fresco meals, or just lounging about.

Coast/Beach
5 minutes walk away are the crystal clear pools of the River Orbieu.
The Mediterranean beach resorts of Narbonne Plage, Gruissan and Port La Nouvelle are all only a 45 minute drive.
Travel
Carcassonne and Bezier Airports (1 hour drive).
Toulouse, Perpignan, Montpellier and Girona (Spain) Airports (2 hours by Autoroute).
Motor-rail to Narbonne (1 hour drive).
Autoroute A61 (30 minutes away).
Train stations at Narbonne and Carcassonne, but a car is essential.
Distances
Lagrasse, 15 minutes away has commerce, so to does nearby
St Laurent. Lezignan has a superb weekly market as well as a range of supermarkets. It is 30 minutes away
Carcassone, and Narbonne, both big towns with all facilities are just 45 minutes away.
A good selection of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and bugets within half an hours drive.

St Martin des Puits is in the heart of the dramatic scenery of the hills of the Corbiere, an area steeped in natural and cultural history, with the Cathar strongholds of Termes, Queribus and Peyreperteuse perched precariosly on rocky limestone escarpments. Close by is the mediaval town of Lagrasse with its Abbey. In the valley is the River Orbieu and the Orbieu Gorge. The diversity and aroma of plants especially in the spring and autumn is breathtaking.
La Garrigue is a perfect base from which to explore, either on foot or by car. Follow one of the many Moutain Bike trails.
Visit the weekly markets at Lezignan or Narbonne. A very French experience.

Initial reservation by telephone or Email. This will be held for 10 days, pending receipt of a signed Booking Form, along with a non refundable deposit of 25%, the balance to be paid 6 weeks before the start of your holiday.
A damage deposit of £100 cash is payable on arrival to be refunded on your departure.
