This functional rural cottage all set on one floor, is located in the quiet village of Diree. Large patio doors on two elevations allow plenty of sunshine into the property. There are fully tiled floors coupled with carpeted bedrooms. Steel shutters allow shading if required. It is five minutes from the bustling fishing town of La Tremblade and the nearby port. It is ten minutes away from the picturesque resort of La Palmyre with its long promenades and palm lined avenues. Safe bathing beaches with soft sand stretch for miles. The Atlantic 'Cote de Savage' is also ten minutes away, with unspoilt idyllic private beaches. This is an eating paradise with seafood specials, bbq's and gourmet cuisine at the top of your list.

Changeover day
Changeover times are flexible depending on bookings. If a new client is arriving then you must vacate by 1100 hrs. Changeover day is normally Saturday.

Bathrooms: Bathroom with bath/shower over, WC, handbasin, washing machine. Tiled floor.
Kitchen: Oven, hob, 2 fridges, freezer, fitted units.
Living Rooms: Large lounge with double patio doors. Floor is fully tiled. Interesting pictures adorn the walls. Two arm chairs and one double sofa. Multi fuel stove. Views over large garden.
Other: Large fully tiled patio area, with garden furniture, bbq, umbrella, sunloungers etc. Telephone available for internet access at additional cost.
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are not provided as standard but can be provided by prior arrangement. The property is cleaned before every handover.


Notes on accommodation
This cottage is ideal for the family wishing to know that their children are secure. It has excellent views over the countryside with horses grazing at the end of the garden. Some of the best beaches in France are within a short drive. There are numerous swimming pools, a great luna park, pony riding, go karts, quads, activity parks and much more, all within 10 minutes.

Due to the nature of the garden this property is not ideally suited to anyone with mobility problems.

Garden laid to lawn with seasonal flowers. Fully tiled patio, sun loungers, garden furniture, umbrella, bbq etc are all available for use.

Some of the best beaches in France are located within a short drive from the cottage. The Atlantic 'Cote Savage' stretches for miles and is very unspoilt and can be very wild on a windy day. Other safer swimming beaches stretch from La Palmyre all the way through to Royan (the nearest large town).

There are some fantastic public golf courses within a short drive. Please consult the local tourist office for the locations.

The nearest airport would be La Rochelle, serviced by the cheap airlines. A hire car would get you to the cottage in one hour. The nearest port is St Malo which is reached by ferry from Portsmouth. Journey time by car to the cottage from St Malo is approx 4 hours. You may wish to drive from Caen but this will take approx one hour more, but the crossing is much cheaper. A car is essential unless you only wish to stay at the cottage.

Nearest town is La Tremblade approx 2 miles, which has supermarkets, banks and all the usual shops. La Palmyre is approx 4 miles with numerous restaurants. Royan is the nearest large town with numerous shops and superstores of all types.

Further details
This location is ideal if you are a food lover. Gourmet restaurants abound that specialise mainly in seafood. The local oyster and mussel beds are located between Ile d'Oleron and La Tremblade and the produce is delivered fresh, daily to the local harbour restaurants. If you are looking for an active holiday there are numerous activities to be undertaken such as cycling (private groomed cycle tracks in the forests), pony trekking, walking, quad biking, sailing, surfing and much much more.

Booking notes
A non refundable deposit of 100 will secure the booking with the balance payable 4 weeks prior to arrival. A damage deposit of 200 is required upon completion of the booking. Late bookings are accepted.
