Coat Salou offers comfortable, spacious accommodation in a converted longere in rural Brittany surrounded by fields and woodland.The river Aulne close by offers walks and wildlife (and fishing) in abundance. The glorious Brittany coast is just 35-45 minutes away and with nearby Scrignac (10 minutes), Huelgoat and Carhaix (15 minutes) away there are plenty of good restaurants and shops available. The area has much to offer and being centrally located places of interest are not far away including Morlaix and the wonderful coastline. There are plenty of markets to explore with Plestin Le Greves being particularly interesting. There are permanent residents at the property - in the form of a family of Barn Owls who have lived here for many generations and around the large pond many other visitors including Herons, Moorhens, wild ducks and the occasional family of Coypu not to mention a visiting Otter.

Prices quoted are for the main longere and adjoining gite. If you only wish to accommodate up to 8 people lower rates per week are available. The prices shown are for 10 people occupying the whole of the property.The property prices are per week in UK Pounds. Bed linen can be provided for an additional fee, please let us know your requirements on booking. Longer lets are available please ask for rates which are negotiable.

Changeover day
Changeover day is normally a Saturday with arrival after 3pm and departure before 10am. If you need to have adifferent changeover day please ask and we will do our best to accommodate.

Living Rooms: Large separate dining room with large dining table, comfortable lounge with FreeSat TV for all UK programmes ,mini hi-fi with radio/cd/mp3 player.
Further living area in connecting gite also with TV and mini hi-fi.

Notes on accommodation
The property is a converted longere which has been extensively updated, retaining it's exposed timber beams and providing comfortable and spacious accommodation. It has full gas fired central heating and hot water system. The connecting gite is self contained with double bed and en-suite shower as well as living area and basic kitchen.Well behaved pets are welcome and the property is suitable for children of all ages. Outside the property there is plenty of open space and a covered barn offering play areas for children and rest and relaxation areas for adults. We ask you not to smoke within the building.

Outside
The property enjoys large open spaces and a good sized pond stocked with a variety of fish, which has a family of Coypu from time to time and recently an Otter has been spotted on a 'dining' visit. There are a couple of barbecues outside and badminton and cricket sets available for use. A boule court is located next to the barn for gentle evening exercise and access to the woods is closeby at the side of the house. The whole area is open to walkers and there is an abundance of wildlife to watch, in particular Owls and birds of prey.

Coast/Beach
The varied and attractive coast of Brittany is easily accessed from the property via Plestin Les Greves or Morlaix, both being less than 40 mins drive away. Going west there is an attractive drive to Le Faou about 45 mins away. The beaches are clean, safe, and not crowded.

Travel
Nearest airport is Brest and nearest port is Roscoff, around 50 mins away. The port of St. Malo is less than 2hrs. drive. A car is essential.

Distances
Huelgoat, which is a lovely town set besides a large lake, set in the Amorique National Park, is less than 5km away. The Grotte de Diable and La Roche Tremblant are ancient sites well worth a visit. The town has a good choice of creperies, bars and restaurants. The area has recently received World Heritage status. Scrignac is the nearest village less than 10 minutes away and has a bar and restaurant.

Further details
There is a small bar less than 10 minutes away and a M. Leclerc supermarket 15 minutes drive away just outside Carhaix. Cashpoints are located in Huelgoat and Carhaix.

We ask for 30% deposit payable on booking with the balance due 2 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. There is a refundable security deposit of £150. We will email a booking form to you for download, or if you prefer by post.
