La Sonine is a beautiful stone villa near St. Paul de Vence, nestled in 5500 sq meters of garden and park-land. It is the ideal holiday villa – private, tranquil and typically French in style with many beautiful villages, river, beaches and activities within 10 minutes drive and all that you need provided. There are 4 double bedrooms, all en suite. Two have spacious private terraces, one goes onto the garden and pool and the 4th enjoys its own access from outside. Furniture and furnishings originate in France, China, Japan and Indonesia and have been carefully chosen to create a simple but elegant Asian/French atmosphere. Outside, the dining terrace off the kitchen seats 12 and the covered terrace off sitting room makes a lovely place for drinks and a quiet retreat from sun and pool. The stone and tile pool (4.5m x 11m) is heated and has an automatic, retractable security cover. In the basement is a large rec-room with flat-screen TV, DVD player, DVDs, books, games and sofa bed.

Notes on prices

Talk to us about low season monthly rental and discounts for more than 3 weeks during mid and peak periods. Rates are inclusive of all laundry and towels including pool towels; end of stay clean, weekly clean for longer bookings. We can also arrange for babysitting services, extra housekeeping and other services on your behalf. Bookings outside the months of July and August may be charged a surcharge for pool heating at up to E300 per week, depending on usage. A deposit of 50% of the rental value is requested on booking. We are happy to help you arrange for cooks, additional cleaning, babysitting or other services if you require.

The amount of 2000.00 Euros is required upon arrival at LA SONINE as a security deposit against property loss and/or damage and unpaid charges. The full amount will be returned by mail within one week of departure. The

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES Unless otherwise agreed, the CLIENT should arrive between 16H00 and 18H00 on the day of arrival and vacate the property by 10H00 on the day of departure. A surcharge of 150€ will be payable for arrivals after 19H00.

Bedrooms: The twin-bed blue room is ideal for 2 children (with the possibility of a 3rd on a blow-up mattress) with parents occupying the elegant master bedroom next door. The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet and high-speed internet access. Both upstairs bedroom are en-suite and enjoy private terraces which make wonderful quiet and secluded sun-traps. The ground floor master bedroom with 4 poster bed, also enjoys a large study area with separate sofa-bed. For those on a working holiday, this room is ideal as it has internet access, fax, scanner and printer. This room opens onto a stone terrace and then the pool so one can keep an eye on things while working. The bright and air basement bedroom has private access from the outside in the form of a large glass door, separate dressing area and arguably the best bathroom. Adult guests can use the bedroom and older children can sleep on the sofas and sofa beds in the adjacent TV/Games room.

Notes on accommodation

We are a family with 3 young children and love to spend our summers at La Sonine. While we are living in Asia, we cannot do this, so are happy to rent out the house to other families. We hope that you and your children will get as much enjoyment from tramping around the forest, swimming in the pool, making daisy chains, playing in the 'Wendy' house etc. as ours do. As tempting as it is to stay at the villa, don't miss the Fondation Maeght, the views from St Paul or Tourettes, lunch in Vence or a walk along the Promenade des Anglais. Each village is different, so don't miss them. For our kids the beach, the river on the way to Villneuve-Loubet and the tree climbing in Villneuve Loubet are essential. If you are there at the height of the season, just make sure you leave early for the beach and read our guest book for suggestions. On a practical note, shopping, doctors and hospitals couldn't be easier with 2 major supermarkets within 7 minutes and local shops on the way.

Location Information: La Sonine provides a secure, peaceful and private hide-away in one of the world's most beautiful, exciting and varied landscapes. As wonderful as it is to just stay at the villa, Nice, St Paul de Vence and the Fondation Maeght, known as centres of art for decades are on your doorstep and cannot be missed. Vence and Tourettes, completely different from each other, are lovely places to explore, have lunch or a drink in the evening, and slightly further afield, Valbonne, Biot, Grasse and Mougins. If you have children, you are just 10 minutes from the beach or river and the hundreds of activities that these have to offer. For culinary excellence, you have only to go to St Paul where there are 2 Michelin-starred restaurants. Nice and Cannes (25 minutes) offers a the wilder night-life and Vence is a great center for Festivals and Music. There are excellent walks on the doorstep or you can drive into the back-country to the foot of the Alpes and in Winter, skiing at Isola.
