The apartment is located on the ground floor of our rustic farmhouse with its own front entrance. It consists of a large kitchen/dining room, utility room, large bathroom, separate wc, 2 double bedrooms and lounge leading to a covered terrace overlooking the lake - ideal for the casual fisherman, bird watcher or artist. A short distance away, boasts the village of Lanquais with its swimming lake, restaurant and historical chateau. The village of Couze with its good range of restaurants, shops and bars and the busy market town of Lalinde are a short drive away and Bergerac and the airport are 20 minutes drive away. The Dordogne river is close by and affords lovely canal walks and fishing.

Accessibility
The apartment is on the ground floor with no steps and is therefore suitable for wheelchair access.
Outside
The property is set in 5 acres with the lake a short distance from the house. We are lucky to have seen a variety of wildlife around our land including ducks, deer and even a visiting heron hoping to catch his dinner. BBQ and outdoor furniture provided on the covered terrace.
Coast/Beach
The beaches to the west of Bordeaux are 2 - 2.5 hours drive away.
Golf
Chateau les Merles 20 minutes travel by car also Chateau des Vigiers and St Felix de Reihac within 30 - 40 minutes.
Travel
Bergerac airport is 15 minutes drive away and serviced by Ryanair, Flybe and Jet2, it has good car hire facilities. Lalinde train station is on the Bordeaux - Sarlat line, and Bergerac station also has good connections. A car is recommended to really enjoy the surrounding area and facilities. Pickup and drop off at the airport can be arranged when booking. The nearest ferry port at Caen is approx 8 hours drive away.

Further details
The bastide town of Lalinde has a very busy street market on Thursday mornings and also has a good supermarket, petrol station and range of shops, restaurants and bars. Issigeac (approx 30 minutes drive) a very picturesque medieval village has a thriving Sunday market all year round for tourists and locals alike. Bergerac is well worth a visit with numerous restaurants, tourist information and of course the famed statue of Cyriano in the old quarter. and the very stunning church of Notre Dame in the centre of Bergerac is well worth a visit. Boat rides are available on the Dordogne to view the region at it's best.
Kayaking or rowing on the Dordogne are ideal ways to view the wonderful villages along the high banks and there are many places to hire in the area. Fishing is also available on the Dordogne (licence required).

Deposit of 25% when booking is made and balance payment 8 weeks before your holiday. If booking is made less than 8 weeks in advance then full amount is to be paid on booking. Payment to be made in UK pounds (euros by arrangements). Weekend breaks available by separate negotiation.
Owner profile
About the owner
Keith and I moved to France in September 2010 after a few years of looking for the right property. We wanted a farmhouse that had both character, barns and space all of which we found in our property. The 1200m sq lake was a bonus as it is stocked with a variety of fish. We have also found that this area has lots to offer even out of season so living here is busy and enjoyable all year round.
We are also willing to let for weekends by separate negotiation if required.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We love this area as it has easy access to Bergerac and Bordeaux airports, the railway stations also at Bergerac and Bordeaux and the smaller station at Lalinde. It is close to the Dordogne river and lots of pretty medieval towns. There are plenty of places within a short distance for visitors, friends and family to visit.
Unique benefits of the property
We are ideally situated being only a few minutes from the villages of Lanquais, Couze and Lalinde all offering a variety of amenities. We love the outdoors and walking and cycling are ideal from our property as there are a variety of good routes to follow. Having the lake adds to the enjoyment of our property in a peaceful setting.
