One golf course on the Island, other courses at La Rochelle across toll-bridge on mainland, approx 15km.

Beaches all up the west coast. Sailing, surfing and wind sailing clubs on the Island. Extensive cycling paths. Bird-watching in the salt-marshes.
Travel
10 - 15 mins drive from La Rochelle airport, across toll bridge. Use of car recommended but not essential (village market, shops, beach within easy walking and cycling distance.
Distances
15 mins from caostal town of La Rochelle, 10 mins to the Island's 'capital', Saint Martin (the Saint Tropez of the Atlantic coast).
Further details
Charming village with market every day on village square. Tabac, 2 restaurants and the best patisserie on the Island. Supermarket less than 1km away on the road to Sainte Marie.
