Think golf and you may find yourself thinking of the Spanish Costas or the Algarve. But wise up, folks. The Dordogne has some excellent places for golf. They are all easily accessible from Issac. There is Chateau des Vigiers (18 hole course designed by Donald Steel – 4th most influential golf course architect in the world), Chateau Les Merles (9 hole), Siorac-en-Perigord (18 hole), Golf de la Marterie (18 hole), Domaine de Rochebois (9 hole) and finally 18 holes at the municipal course (Perigueux), which welcomes visitors in summer season. This may be more functional than luxurious, but keeps the locals very happy!
Skiing
Nearest skiing: St. Pierrede Frugie, 90 Kilometres
I know it is difficult to believe, but Dordogne really has it all! Even skiing!!! The nearest facilities are located about 90 km north of Issac in St. Pierre de Frugie. The conditions are rather similar to those in Scotland rather than Pyrenees or Alps, but still – it is always fun for the kids!
