"Great B&B "
Felicity and Peter are the perfect hosts in this B&B. They have made us feel as there family. In the middle of La Region Languedoc-Rosellon, Montlaur is only at 15 minutes to Carcassonne, Lagrasse, and really close to Narbone. If you like to relax a couple of days and have a spectacular scenery between the roads and vineyards this is a beautiful place to stay. Thank you Peter & Felicity, we hope see you soon

Peter and Felicity were amazing hosts! They really went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. An example is even proposing to contact them if we needed help in organising a future vacation in the area! It is clear that they love what they do and this is reflected in the way that they treat their clients. The food was generous, the wine plentiful and they even catered for dietary restrictions. We wouldn't hesitate to go back to see them and their quaint B&B!

We had a very friendly welcome at a clean and hospitable house. Felicity & Peter made us so welcome we thought of ourselves as friends and not customers. The bedroom was comfortable and cleaned regularly, and the private shower room was cleaned daily. The breakfasts were splendid and set us up for the day. They advised us of what sites we could visit and the timing taken to get to them, thereby stopped us wasting precious time of our visit. A lot of the sites seem easy to reach on the maps but the terrain was something else and some plans we thought of were not practically possible but with Peter's help we saw more of the countryside than would have been possible. They also arranged a visit to a vineyard/cellar for us free of charge. There are plenty of restaurants around either at or on route to the various sites or local to the house although a car is necessary. Two particularly nice restaurants are within 10 mins of the house. The coast is also within easy reach and a day by the Med. is certainly a good option. The area is well known for the Cathars and their castles. Many still remain as ruins and are spectacular to see. These are highly recommended visits. The mountains are also spectacular and provide views and breathtaking towns perched on the edges of gorges. One particular place to visit is the town of Minerve just north of Carcassonne, which sits above two rivers on the edge of ....nothing! How they built that place in such a beautiful gorge is amazing. There are also many churches and abbeys to see around the area. The town of Carcassonne itself is certainly the jewel in the crown. The medieval town itself is situated within an old town of narrow streets and shops and restaurants, and there is a modern town surrounding all this offering stores and facilities. The Midi canal runs from Toulouse to S?te on the coast and is ever present through out the area. This means that there are many towns which have riverside restaurants. Two worth a visit are at Homps and Trebes which are both within easy reach. We can and do recommend this area and highly recommend the house of Peter and Felicity at Montlaur for comfort and hospitality.
