Built on the river edge which gives the region it's name, the Vendee, 40km from the sea shore and 40 minute by car from the bridge of Ile de Re, this majestic, recently restructured château consists of a central section, flanked by two towers. The château has been sensitively redecorated to ensure that its original, elegant French style – complete with crystal chandeliers and gilt-edging - is maintained, while providing all the modern conveniences that guests expect. Many of the rooms offer superb panoramic views of the river and tree-clad hills.
