Le Château d'Oz is in the sunny village of Oz en Oisans and directly linked to the huge ski and cycling area of Alpe d'Huez. Andy and Gill welcome you to our home, your home from home whilst you are with us. Access by road is easy all year round and we have a large private car park. Our 2000m2 garden is available for building snowmen in Winter or lazing on the terraces in the Summer sunshine. We will look after your holiday needs from start to finish. Notes on prices
Prices per person per week half board. 2/3/4th person discounted T&C apply. In summer s/c, B&B also available.Please enquire. Children Under 11 yrs free as long as they eat the children’s menu at the children’s mealtime 18h00).If they eat the adult meal in the evening there is a 54€ supplement. Children aged 11 or 12 priced at just 150€ per week. A “child” is under 13 yrs on the day of departure and must be accompanied by an adult paying the full price, sharing the same suite.

Outside
We are in a really sunny spot, South facing with great views. Our 2000m2 Garden is available for your children to amuse themselves and for you to relax in. We have three terraces, which have the sun on them all day, perfect for soaking up the sunshine. There is a barbecue and garden furniture for outside entertainment. Private car parking for 12 cars. A local indoor heated swimming pool is just 10 minutes away. In 2013 a large ice skating rink opened in Vaujany.

Coast/Beach
There are 7 lakes within easy reach and some have 'beaches' with safe swimming and childrens enteratinment. Locally, there are 3 outdoor swimming pools open in the summer, and 2 indoor pools open all year.

Golf
Golf courses are available in Grenoble and Uriage.

Skiing
We are directly linked to the lifts at Oz en Oisans Station by a free bus that leaves from near the bottom of the driveway. We also have our own minibus.
Access to the Station by car is easy at all times. Parking is extensive and free. Oz ESF ski school is excellent. High speed gondolas get you to the heart of Alpe d'Huez's legendary skiing in just a few minutes. Alpe d'Huez has some of the best range of skiing anywhere in the world. It is an excellent place to learn, with one of the largest and most varied extent of gentle "Green" slopes for beginners. Intermediates have a huge amount of "Blue" and "Red" slopes to challenge them. We can advise you during our three days of guidance around the slopes where the best places are to ski for your ability and, most importantly, where the best places for lunch are. Expert skiers have lots of "Blacks" to choose from and more off-piste than you can shake a stick at.
Helicopter flights to Les Deux Alpes add an extra thrill to a weeks skiing.

Special interest holidays
Summer cycling: One of the most famous areas for cycling holidays with impressive scenery and dramatic views. Easy access to Alpe d'Huez Tour de France 21 bends, and the famous cols of Galibier, Glandon, Croix de Fer, Telegraph etc.
All types of Bike hire available - road and VTT
In July and August the mountain lifts open for dramatic and varied mountain biking runs from green to black including the 'Megavalanche' which starts at 3300m.

How to get there
Grenoble, St Geoirs, is our nearest airport. Several low cost airlines fly here during the winter. It is about 90 minutes from the airport to Le Château d'Oz.
Lyon (2h), St Etienne (3h), Geneva (2.5h) and Turin (3.5h) are good alternatives. We can arrange transport for you to and from any of the local airports for a very reasonable charge.

Distances
Renting a car is this is both cheaper and gives you greater flexibility when you are here. Driving time from Calais is 8.5 hours. All but the last 25km are on Autoroute.

Further details
For summer self catering is available for stays of over 3 nights (5 nights in high season) all suites have 2 ring stove, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, fridge/ freezer, cooking utensils, tea towels. Some suites also have an oven and dishwasher. All suites are huge - approx 400 square feet. Bedlinen and towels also provided. If you choose to self cater, there is a 60€ cleaning charge or you can clean the suite yourself before departure. No hidden costs.
