Set on a hilltop, surrounded by vineyards, the stone building was originally a chai, a wine store. The recently converted self catering gites have been designed to a high standard. Each has an open plan living/dining area with a fully fitted kitchen, and doors to a private terrace. The views are spectacular. On the first floor there are two twin bedded rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. A perfect place to relax, and an ideal base for those wishing to explore the area. Popular activities, apart from wine tasting, include walking, painting and cycling. St. Emilion is only 35 kilometres away, with the Atlantic coast, Arcachon and the Dune du Pyla about an hour away. To the south the Pyrenees can be reached in under 3 hours.

Notes on prices
The prices are for each Gite per week in UK pounds.
Central heating in low season included in the tariff. Outside high season, short breaks/long weekends may be available. Price on application. Discounts available for long lets by negotiation.
Changeover day
Normally Saturday to Saturday.
Arrival after 3.00pm. Checkout by 10.00am

Spacious open plan living and dining area. TV, DVD, radio and CD player. French doors to private terrace with table and chairs. BBQ provided. Fully equipped kitchen area with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and all cooking utensils. Two bedrooms with beautiful exposed beams. Each bedroom has twin beds and an en-suite bathroom, one with a shower, the other with a bath. All the rooms are light and airy with views from every window. All bedding, linen and towels are provided (for indoor use only). Clean linen provided weekly. |

Notes on accommodation
All around are fields and vineyards and there are no fences. Our gites have the benefit of full central heating in the winter. No smoking inside the accommodation please.
Outside
The private swimming pool is 8m x 4m with Roman steps at the shallow end. There is a large patio area with sun loungers, chairs and parasols. The panoramic views from the pool area are beautiful, and it is a great place to watch the sunset. There is a lake and restaurant nearby, at the bottom of the hill, it is within walking distance.
Coast/Beach
The Atlantic coast is approximately 1 hour away by car. The long sandy beaches, well known for surfing, are quite magnificent. The Arcachon Basin, and the town of Arcachon are well worth a visit. The town has many shops and restaurants. Boat trips are also available there. The Dune du Pyla, the largest sand dune in Europe, is just along the coast.
Golf
There are a number of golf courses in the region.
Travel
Bordeaux Airport is approximately 35 minutes by car, and Bergerac Airport is approximately 1 1/2 hours by car.
The drive from ferry ports takes approximately 7/8 hours on the very good French autoroutes.

Cadillac 2.5 kilometres; St. Emilion 35 kilometres; Langon 14 kilometres; Bordeaux 30 kilometres.
Further details
We are in an area of rolling hills and great views. Wine tasting, walking, painting and cycling are very popular pastimes. A short drive away, on the other side of the river Garonne to the south is the wine area of Sauternes, which has a number grand chateaux, and to the north is the region of Graves. The town of Langon is 20 minutes away and has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Cadillac itself has a number of restaurants, and a very good market on Saturday mornings. The city of Bordeaux has a good selection of shops, restaurants, museums and galleries, plus an excellent new tram system.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required to secure bookings. Balance payable 6 weeks before arrival date. A security deposit of £100 is payable on arrival.
