Clistivan is in a very tranquil setting, surrounded by fields, but only 10 minutes walk from the village of La Chapelle Neuve with its shop, bar, etc. There are lovely walks and cycle rides starting from the country lane beside the gite, and rabbits, lizards, butterflies and birds all around. Clistivan is a breton longere (stone longhouse) beautifully converted to the highest specifications. 'Chene' and 'Hetre' are 2 comfortable and spacious beamed cottages. They can be interconnected for joint bookings -great for 2 families on holiday together but wanting a bit of privacy. A warm welcome is offered by the resident owners. The propery is placed on the brow of a hill, with beautiful panoramic views. You can admire the magnificent sunsets while having bar-be-ques during the long evenings (an extra hour of sunlight compared to GMT). It is a 5 minute drive from the local town of Baud where there are a good range of shops, supermarkets, a swimming pool, cinema, and restaurants.

This spacious cottage accommodates 4/5 and has panoramic views from the rear. Old stone walls combine with first class modern fittings to give you a very comfortable stay. On the 1st floor; 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, mezzanine with extra bed, bathroom with bath/shower and WC. Bedrooms attractively decorated, with co-ordinated bedlinen. On the ground floor; full kitchen with breakfast bar, living room/dining room with large table, comfortable sofa and armchairs. You'll find many books, games, toys and DVDs in the plentiful storage cupboards. Kitchen has all mod cons and everything you need to prepare a gourmet dinner. |

These two spacious cottages are interlinked by interior doors on both the first and ground floor. They provide accommodation for 8-10, but also a high level of privacy. Ideal for 2 families, a group holiday for couples, or a family reunion. Your accommodation: 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms. 2 bathrooms with bath/shower, 2 fully equipped kitchens and 2 sitting rooms. The large dining table can seat 8-10 people, and there is plenty of crockery and cutlery for you to enjoy mealtimes together. |

Cottages have central heating and are fully equipped to make them a home from home.
Accessibility
Converted with comfort and safety in mind, they are very welcoming to small children or the elderly. Chene has steps down to the kitchen, whereas Hetre ground floor is on one level.
Outside
The rear garden, with its astounding view, is enclosed for young children's safety, and offers bar-be-ques and garden furniture. Front and side gardens offer space for badminton, games and swings.
Coast/Beach
30 minutes drive to the coast and the beautiful 'inland sea' of the Golfe du Morbihan with boat trips to the islands. Long stretches of glorious sandy beaches are 30-40 minutes drive. Try Erdeven for waves and surfing, or Carnac for sheltered bays and sandcastles.
Golf
There are several excellent 18-hole golf courses within 30-40 minutes drive. The nearest is a 9-hole course just 20 minutes away.
Travel
Nearest airports: Nantes (from Gatwick), Dinard or Brest (from Luton or Stansted) - all a 2 hour drive away.
Nearest ports: St Malo (from Portsmouth) - 2 hours drive, Caen (from Portsmouth) - 3 hours drive.
We are in a rural situation so a car is essential.
Distances
Local village is 1.4 km - a pleasant 12 minutes walk.
The market town of Baud with banks, swimming pool, supermarkets, etc is 5 minutes drive. Locmine is 10 minutes away. These local towns have numerous restaurants with set-price menus of 10 euros to 'haute cuisine'.
Medieval cities of Vannes, Auray or Josselin are 25 minutes drive.
Further details
There are such a lot of things to do, enough to fill a 3 week holiday! Locally there are walks, cycle rides, canoeing, pedallos, forest accrobatics, horse-riding and museums of old country life. There are medieval towns within 20 minutes, with ramparts, castles, timbered buildings and wonderful markets. If you prefer ancient history there are standing stones and burial chambers scattered over the countryside as well as the famous ones at Carnac. There are numerous attractions for the children, such as zoos, water parks, and labyrinths. AND of course the fabulous sandy beaches just 30 mins away!
