Notes on prices
The price includes the provision of bed linen and towels.(not beach towels) There is no additional charge for cleaning of the property provided it is left in the same condition as when entered.
A 100 euro (or 100 sterling) cash deposit (refundable) will be required upon entry to cover any drastic damages/cleaning.
Changeover day
Saturday - arrival usually not before 3 pm. Vacation by 10 am. This maybe flexible - please enquire.

Notes on accommodation
We would ask you not to smoke in the property, and to only smoke on the patio if necessary.
We do not accept pets at the property.
Although there is a woodburning stove in the living room of the property, this is restricted for winter months only, no responsibility will be accepted by the owners. Electric heating can be provided if necessary during the summer months.

How to get there
Cherbourg is the nearest channel port at 40km, 30 minutes driving. Calais is approximately 4 hours driving distance. The use of a car is recommended in and around Sainte Mere Eglise as there is limited public transport/ possibly 2 buses a day into Cherbourg or St. Lo, the nearest train station is Carentan 15km away where you can get a direct train into Paris (approx 2 -1/2 hours).
Caen is approx 45 minutes by car.

About the owner
My husband and I have owned the house for 8 years and also have a Military Shop in the town, which we run from April to September each year.
You will have the peace of mind to know that we are just around the corner if you have any questions about the area.

Why the owner chose a house in this location
At first we bought in this area because of our interest in the History of WW2 - Andrew has owned a mail order Militaria business for almost 30 years and had a life-long interest. The opportunity came for us to also buy a shop in the town and we now sell Military items from April to September from this shop.
We have been welcomed into the french community of this small town and have made many friends.
Unique benefits of the property
Conveniently just 2 minutes from the centre square of Sainte Mere Eglise with its shops, restaurants, church and airborne museum, just 5 minutes walk from the large supermarket. You can take a stroll in the morning and pick up fresh croissants from the local bakery or call into the buiscuiterie. The local market is on Thursday and in July/August there is an additional evening market once a week for local artisans. If you do not want to cook at home then you have no problems of having to drive for a decent place to eat as there are ample restaurants. On Sunday morning the local butcher roasts chicken and lamb joints in the square. The house really is in the best position whether you want to explore the countryside, go to the beach or just stay and sample the local village life.
