Owner profile
About the owner
We moved to France in 2003 with our then 1 and 2 yr old daughters. Our dream was to incorporate our family into the french way of life. We wanted more space and to grow our own vegetables etc. French life hasn't been easy but we love it ! Our girls are fully bilingual and are seen as french by their school friends. We have lots of friends and France is our new home, we are very proud of it. The education is very good and we love the open spaces and countryside surrounding our house. Family bike rides and long walks are a regular activity - sounds simple but we love it. That's not to say that the girls don't enjoy their DS's and Wii's - there are some gadgets we can't do without !!
In all we are happy with our move, life is settled and our children are happy.
Year purchased: 2003
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We were looking for a house with easy access to the beaches but still very french. It sounds a cliché but we believe we have the best of both worlds. We are 5 mins drive from a route national and 15 mins from the nearest A10 motorway junction. Getting around is very easy but we live in open, peaceful countryside.
There are lots of country roads that can be explored on bike or by foot or you can jump in your car and travel to the coast or one of the other many tourist attractions nearby.
Unique benefits of the property
We have been receiving guests for the last 6 years and have had some guests returning to us every year since then! We aim to be welcoming and family friendly. Each gite has it's own enclosed garden but there is also an open courtyard to the front where the children love to meet and play.
Bird watchers will love the variety of birds we have in the fields behind the gites and at harvest time it's great to see the combine harvester come right up to the fence, within a meter of our border ! Sunflowers and wheat are our regular crop.
All our land is fenced for children's safety so when the front gates are closed, they can run and play without the parents having to worry.
See our guest comments on our website to reassure you of a lovely holiday.
